Bob who know this I bet - shuttle to shuttle launch?

Actually I've seen a night launch from my in-laws yard in Merritt Island (Between Cocoa Beach and the Port) and it was totally amazing! You could see it hundreds of miles up - I'm sure much further than you would be able to during the day. You can feel the rumble in the ground as well. If you are interested in that sort of thing it is worth a little trouble - for many of us a once-in-a-lifetime thing that you will always remember. Either way I hope you enjoy your trip!:)

As far as I know, there aren't any shuttles from Disney over to the Space Center.
If you take 528 east, it goes straight to the coast (get there by going norht on 417 off the Osceola parkway). There is a causeway over the river & inland water way. Along that causeway, there are places to pull off along the side of the road & park along the water (going out, you want to be on the left side of the road-there are turn-arounds for that). From there, you can see the assembly building & will have a great view of the launch.
Go early, pack a picnic, plan to relax there before the launch. Bring a fishing rod if you do that sort of thing. Watch for dolphins, manatees, & lots of birds. Do a license plate contest to see how many different states you can see.
This is where Bob & I usually went to watch the shuttles go up. the last one he reported on, he went with our friend Majk (pronounced Mike-don't ask) & they paid to be in the viewing area at the visitor center parking lot. i didn't go, too late & had to work.
Hope this helps. Dian-er :thumbsup2 :woohoo:

I was so looking forward to going! I was so psyched. Stop at Walmarts, buy cheap chairs, stop at Publix, buy great sandwiches (we love Publix sandwiches). Now that it's been rescheduled, we'll be back in New Jersey ):

sigh:confused3

Thanks for your great advice Dianer, BP and Jmee.
