This restaurant, along with Trail's End, is a breakfast tradition for our family. We look so forward to the banana stuffed french toast. It used to be called Crazy Cajun toast but the name has been changed. I thought maybe some Cajun folks were offended by the name of the entree (remember, we are talking about a restaurant that is located at the WDW resort that changed it's name from Dixie Landings because it was offensive to some) but I found out that many folks shied away from ordering it because they assumed it was hot and spicey! I thought that was funny!:Pinkbounc

We ordered our usual fruit plate to share an found that several peices of the fruit were brown and rotten. I left those nasty pieces on the platter for all to see. DH ordered the Blueprint Omelet. I was hoping that he would eat half of it and give the rest to me and I would trade him for the leftover part of my banana french toast. He does not like spinach but I do-- so I asked him if he would ask them to put a tad of spinach in the omelet. He explained to the server what we were doing and she said no problem. He said, "Just the tiniest sprinkling of spinach..." Well, his entire omelet was not just green, but that dark, dark wet green --as if an entire 16 oz. box of frozen, chopped spinach were dumped on top. Needless to say, he could not eat it at all and I ended up with it. When the server came to check on us I showed her the omelet and she said, "Oh, it looks like they decided to make spinach the main feature!" She looked at the leftover rotten fruit on the plate and my heap of spinach on the plate and walked away. I was very surprised that she did not ask if I wanted them to remake the omelet. :(

The french toast was delicious, as always. We will continue to eat at Boatwright's for breakfast. We will leave the fruit plate and the spinach out of the equation.

Hi Belle..

I have been enjoying all your meal reports - thanx.

Just wanted to ask how old are all your boys? and earlier you mentioned your hubby was hurt at Disney.. what happened?

I guess the last question would be - where did you stay?

Oh and one more... at Beaches and cream - did you notice if they have butter pecan ice cream?

Thanx!

Another place I would like to try. If you don't mind answering this it seems like you had a few rude or just indifferent servers, were there more of these type of servers on this trip compared to other trips? My family found that we had more of the rude, indifferent, bad attitude servers on this past trip than in our two previous trips combined and I am wondering if this seems to be a trend.

>>^..^<<,

I'm glad you are enjoying my reports. I guarantee you are not enjoying my reports nearly as much as I enjoyed most of my food!!!;)

My boys are 16 1/2, 15, 13, 10 1/2, and 5 1/2.

I did not notice the butter pecan ice cream but for some reason it does seem like that was one of the ice creams we had in the Kitchen Sink last year. Maybe someone else reading this will know. Sorry!

DH's injury. It didn't actually happen at WDW but he was diagnosed while at an Orlando hospital. He has lost a bunch of weight and was overly motivated to flatten his abs with weight lifting. He has a nasty hernia and will be having surgery this week. He was diagnosed with a "bladder infection" and given antibiotics by his family doctor just before we went on the trip. If we would have known the REAL source of his pain we would never have made the trip. He really suffered greatly. I guess saying he was injured at WDW wasn't quite accurate but I thought it got the point across that unexpectedly he was not able to function well in the parks.

LAWalz23,
It does seem like I'm complaining about servers a lot this time but I'm saving some of our better experiences for last, I guess. We really had some outstanding servers that you will read about if you keep following my reports. Actually, the server at Boatwright's was pretty friendly--she just didn't seem to care if things were right for us or not. But she ignored our food mistakes with a smile!;)

Belle5, thanks for the answer. I was just wondering what you thought as I think that there have been a few more reviews lately and your experience pretty much mirrored ours which was most servers were great but there were more of the none great this year. It sound like you had a lot of terrific meals and are making me think of some new places to go for my next trip. Hope everything goes well with your husband's surgery this week.

Hi Belle... thanx for the reply :D

I love hearing about where people eat at Disney and I like how you are doing it restaurant by restaurant.

Gosh - 5 boys and one more on the way - you are a trooper, and so is your hubby for travelling when ill - however, it hasn't seemed to affect his appetite any :D

Where did you stay at Disney?
