This restaurant, along with Trail's End, is a breakfast tradition for our family. We look so forward to the banana stuffed french toast. It used to be called Crazy Cajun toast but the name has been changed. I thought maybe some Cajun folks were offended by the name of the entree (remember, we are talking about a restaurant that is located at the WDW resort that changed it's name from Dixie Landings because it was offensive to some) but I found out that many folks shied away from ordering it because they assumed it was hot and spicey! I thought that was funny!
We ordered our usual fruit plate to share an found that several peices of the fruit were brown and rotten. I left those nasty pieces on the platter for all to see. DH ordered the Blueprint Omelet. I was hoping that he would eat half of it and give the rest to me and I would trade him for the leftover part of my banana french toast. He does not like spinach but I do-- so I asked him if he would ask them to put a tad of spinach in the omelet. He explained to the server what we were doing and she said no problem. He said, "Just the tiniest sprinkling of spinach..." Well, his entire omelet was not just green, but that dark, dark wet green --as if an entire 16 oz. box of frozen, chopped spinach were dumped on top. Needless to say, he could not eat it at all and I ended up with it. When the server came to check on us I showed her the omelet and she said, "Oh, it looks like they decided to make spinach the main feature!" She looked at the leftover rotten fruit on the plate and my heap of spinach on the plate and walked away. I was very surprised that she did not ask if I wanted them to remake the omelet.
The french toast was delicious, as always. We will continue to eat at Boatwright's for breakfast. We will leave the fruit plate and the spinach out of the equation.
