Boatwrights for Dinner

No way. It wasn't even worth the walk from my room at POR.

Well, we are dining there in September (never ate there for dinner before, just for breakfast back when they used to have it). We are staying at POR so we thought it would be nice to try it out then. We aren't too worried about it because if we don't like it we won't eat there again.

Definitely not. Boatwright's serves its purpose perfectly. It's a relatively standard hotel restaurant that appeals to people too tired to venture any farther for a reasonable dinner. It's not worth a special trip, even if you have a car.

I agree with PPs, UNLESS you are staying at POR or POFQ

When we stayed at POR, we ate there on arrivial night. We were very happy with both the food and service. So, if you want to eat a TS dinner close to your room, then go there, and you'll enjoy it.

But, there's nothing special or unique about it, I wouldn't travel just to go there.

Where is your favorite place to eat in the parks and outside the parks?

We had dinner at Boatwright's once because we were staying at POFQ. It was ok but I wouldn't go out of my way to dine there again.

We ate here Friday night and I agree with all of the above that this is not worth a special trip. We stayed one night at POR and tried it to say we have dined there but probably would not go back. Very limited menu selections but I will say the cornbread they bring to the table was delicious and we ordered a 2nd helping and took some for the ride back home on Saturday.

We have stayed at Riverside three times and had a meal at Boatwrights each time. Most of the comments are right on the mark.

However, I would add that if you are on the free dining plan (or if you have the coin), go there and order the filet. I have had it twice and it is as good as any steak that I have had at WDW.

From my experience, Boatwright's is certainly not worth going out of your way for. It's passable if you're already staying at POR or POFQ.

Even then, I doubt I'd go there again.

We always make a trip (or two!) to Boatwrights every time we are at WDW. We love it. Great atmosphere and the service we have had, has always been great. Cant say much about the food choices though, we go to Boatwrights strickly for the steak! We have been to most of the restaurants and steakhouses at WDW, and Boatwrights always has the best prime rib on property for the money, IMHO. Its a bargain compared to Prime rib any where else on property, and its great. We dont even look at the menu anymore......we all just order the PR.
So, while we dont know about some of the other food choices at Boatwrights, we can attest that the steak is awesome! Also, its a very easy ADR to get at the last minute.
Good luck.......
