Has anyone had any experience eating at Boatwright's at POR? We are thinking about changing our ADR for WCC and since we are staying at POFQ we thought it would be an easy walk over for dinner. The menu looks like it would be OK for everyone in our family to find something they like but I always like to get feedback before I make a choice.

Any info is greatly appreciated!:thanks:

We had dinner there back in october of 05. I will tell you it was not very good. We also had breakfast there and it was much better. I would not waste a TS credit unless they have improved since then. Someone else may have had a better experience.

My DH and I eat here at least once every trip. My DH loves the jumbalaya and the pot roast I had was very tasty. Breakfast is also yummy, the sweet potato pancakes and french toast loaf are GREAT!

We eat at Boatwright's every year. We stay at POR, so I make ADR for the day we arrive. Everytime we've eaten there it has been good. Last year my sister asked about one of the dishes, if it was more cajun or creole. The server said she wasn't sure but would ask. Well, she actually brought a small sample for my sister to try to see if she liked it. I thought that was really grest service. Hope this helps.

We usually do our first night dinner at whatever resort we're staying at, so we tried Boatwrights in Sept '05. We all loved it. The jambalaya is excellent, and DH enjoyed his prime rib. We really liked their appetizers too - we all shared the crab cakes and shrimp cocktail, and I had French onion soup. Not exactly unique dishes, but all were very good.

Thanks for the input everyone - we are leaning towards cancelling our ADR fro WCC and replacing it with Boatwright's. We are hearing it takes about an hour and a half to get to WCC from POFQ using Disney transportation and we hate the thought of wasting that much time just to get to a restaurant. We ate at WCC last Aug. and really enjoyed it, but since we are trying 'Ohana's this time, we'll still have a fun atmosphere restaurant for the kids. We're thinking after dinner we can grab the boat to DTD and then back to POFQ.

Thanks again everyone!:disrocks:

I don't think you'll be disappointed. We LOVE POR and eat at Boatwrights each trip. We have only had good experiences and food was yummy!
Have a wonderful trip!

We have eaten at Boatwright's each of the last two years and both times it turned out to be one of...if not the best meal we had those trips. I love the pot roast and my wife enjoys the crabcakes.

Plus, I love the ride down the Sassagoula River to DTD...sounds like a nice plan you have!

This is exactly what we decided to do. After really considering the transportation time to WCC from POFQ, we decided to dump that ADR. We're doing Boatwright's instead.

Thanks again everyone - based on the positive input (and really considering the travel time to WCC) we changed our ADR to Boatwright's. We were concerned we could get an ADR this close to our arrival date, but luckily they had several openings for 8/23. We'll be there at 5:40 then hopping the boat to DTD - I think I'm looking forward to a more relaxed evening. We're planning on being in AK that day and, since that is always the hottest park, now we'll have time to grab a swim before we walk over to POR.

Again, I appreciate everyone's input :goodvibes

We've never eaten at Boatrights- this year will be our first time. I think I'd rather go to WCC because I LOVE their skillet. Everything in it is so good.....Can't wait to go for our trip!
