Has anyone been to Boatwright's Dining Hall at Port Orleans? If so, did you like it, would you go back again...we were looking at trying something a little different...thank you!

We found it to be very unimpressive...not bad, but definitely not worth traveling to if you're not staying at POR. We dropped in one evening for a late dinner on our way from the bus to our room (it was never busy during our stay).

They were apparently very good for breakfast when they served it, but we never had the chance to have breakfast there. Dinner is just so-so.

Boatwright's is not very good at all IMO. If you are staying at POR and are planning a night in at the resort, maybe it is worth checking out. But even then, your much better off taking a nice boat ride to and from DTD for dinner.

My girlfriend and I ate there last year on our first night but we both found the meal quite forgetable.

I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and beer at Boatwright's, but I would agree with the others that the restaurant is probably not worth a special trip if you are not staying at POR. (I was staying at POR when I ate there.) The restaurant decor itself has a large boat under construction which is fairly interesting, but the restaurant is in a space in between the bar and the food court, so other than the boat it lacks character.

Boatwright's had an AWESOME southern style breakfast that we always went to.

Well, now they've stopped serving it, a shame really.

They only do dinner now and I wasn't happy with their food at dinner.

We had dinner at Boatwright's in April, 2008 and enjoyed it very much. It wasn't crowded, the service was pretty decent, and because we were staying at POFQ and it was our last night, we walked to POR. DH and I both had the filet with crawfish hollandaise but it's no longer on the menu; if I recall correctly, the kids menu was pretty boring and DGD had pizza. We may or may not go back again, it's not one of those must do restaurants for us.

My wife and I ate here last Aug, '09. It was our anniversary dinner--did it as a date night...left the kids (oldest was 18 at the time) at POP. I set this up as a date night kinda thing and had a surprise carriage ride reserved at POR, so that's mainly why I booked this restaurant. We had to take a bus to DTD, then a really nice boat ride to POR, ate and then did the carriage ride. Food was good, but wasn't great. We enjoyed our character buffets alot more. We had free dining, I wouldn't pay to eat at Boatwrights, but the food was good.

Too expensive for being in a moderate.

You are better off going to one of the other resorts, or over to DTD.

Went in 2007 for our last meal of the trip. It was the worse meal of the trip -- had to send my steak back twice and it still wasn't right, portions extremely small, desserts were awful and the service really terrible (over two hours there for the two of us). We won't be going back.

We last went in July, 2008 b/c we were staying at POFQ. I had fried chicken and quite enjoyed it, but I think my food was the highlight. Everyone else seemed ho-hum about their food and for the price, it isn't as good as it should be. The Kids Menu was disappointing, since it was just the same basic menu as everywhere else. No southern specialty option of any kind. My girl loves southern food so being stuck with chicken nuggets or pizza was a tad disappointing. The bucket of bread was really good though!

I have to agree with my other half. I did like what i had (can't for the life of me remember the name) It was pasta with goat cheese. I wouldn't go out of our way to go there again.
