Boatrights Dining Hall

We ate dinner at Boatwrights with a party of 12 and everyone was fine...it's just not that exciting. The food is pretty straightforward, I had salmon, some had chicken, the usual kids meals and I think my brother had a creole dish that was lightly seasoned (we're used to real New Orleans food). I'd recommend checking out the menu at allears.net.

The meal was reasonably priced and service was good, we had a wide range of ages--2 toddlers, 2 kids, 4 parents, 2 grandparents and a great uncle and great aunt! Since it's a quieter restaurant, we were all able to talk and swap tables to see each other.

I ate there years ago when staying at Dixie Landings. I remember liking the jambalaya. However, I am also interested in some more recent opinions as we are planning on eating here in May - we are planning on heading here after a day at AK and then back to our room at POFQ - one of our planned early to bed nights so that we don't burn the kids out!

We ate breakfast here during our last trip, but not dinner. The breakfast was excellent and we had a wonderful server. The sweet potato pancakes are delicious. We never did try it for dinner because we saw they had things like crawfish and jambalaya which I cook all the time at home. We like to try different things on vacation.

My wife, three kids and I have had two dinners and a breakfast at Boatwright's. We have stayed at POR twice and had the dining plan both times so it was convienent for us to dine at Boatwright's.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is rather uninspiring compared to other Disney restaurants. However, the food is pretty good. The filet that I had was excellent but I think I liked the three cheese potatoes even better. I had the jambalaya the other time but it was bland. My wife had the fried chicken one time and she said it was OK. She liked her filet the other time.

Their desserts are great. My wife loved her pecan pie and I loved the apple pie. On top of this, Boatwright's has their lava smoothie. It's a combo of raspberry and pina colada. All five of us agreed that it was the best smoothie that we ever had.

We had our breakfast a few hours before our flight to go home. I had your basic breakfast of eggs, sausage, potatoes and toast - it was good. My wife had the banana stuffed french toast. She absolutely loved it and she still talks about it two years after the fact.

We are planning to stay at POR again in August and we will definitely plan another meal at Boatwright's.

We had a handful of meals here on our last trip (because of the dining plan, we had enough table service meals...) Anyhow, we enjoyed the meals we had. I would eat there again. Good luck...enjoy.

First, as of February 21, they will no longer be serving breakfast. My DH is upset because he really wanted to go in September for the sweet potato pancakes that everyone raves about. We went for our last dinner during our September 2007 and it was by far the worse meal of our trip. We were seated 45 minutes after our ADR time and had a very rude host; our server had no personality and spoke the minimal words that she needed to; I sent my food back twice and the food was mediocre at best. The place was so loud that you couldn't hear yourself think let alone talk (it is between the food court and the bar where the piano player plays). Like I said, we had hoped to go for breakfast, but we won't be going back for dinner.
