Boathouse Dining hall thoughts

Have an early morning flight on 5/7, so I'm not sure what to do on the last night of the trip 5/6. Doing Animal Kingdom during the day, so wanting a close to POFQ meal. This leads to the question of Boatwright Dining Hall. How is the place for food? Is it fairly quiet place? Doing the big Meal for Mom's Birthday at Morimoto Asia the day before, so that's why I want a quieter last night dinner. If Boatwright's isn't that good, What are some other nearby suggestions (can Park Hop on ticket)? May 6th is a Friday night, so Disney Springs may be very crowded that night.

Note: Can't change title, so I have to change the post.

What about Rose and Crown (quiet), Trail's End (cheap), Turf Club (close), or Olivia's (close). Boathouse should be fine, but you are right, DS will be busy on a Friday night!

Do you mean BoatWRIGHTS (at POR) or BoatHOUSE (at Disney Springs)?

I was not overly impressed with the Boathouse. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't up to par with the other Disney Signatures. While its not near POFQ, Artist Point is my favorite Signature on property. Olivia's at Old Key West is wonderful and very quiet.

Boatwrights at POR is one of my favourites. Good simple food in big portions. I loved the Jambalaya and corn bread.

WE lovc Boatwrights at POR too. We had our best meal of our last vacation there.

Assuming you mean Boatwrights, it's generally quiet and decent food. Boathouse at DS - we had an amazing meal here in Feb. though we were lucky enough to sit in the boat inside the restaurant for our meal and the food was fabulous. However it is not quiet but the ambiance was great with live music.

I meant Boatwrights and not Boathouse. Didn't go for Boathouse because it's in Disney Springs. Will change title and post in a minute. This is what I get for doing something at 10 PM last night. My thinking is to do a Carriage ride and Dinner at POR for her Birthday on the last night.

I think we were all confused because you did mention that you thought DS would be busy on a Friday, which could fall either way (stay at POR, or "eek, do I really want to go to DS?").

We ate at Boatwrights in March of 2015. We were staying at POFQ and went their on arrival night. It was awful BUT, I truly believe it was a bad night. He flavors were good, service was friendly, just slow and our food wear ether ice cold or sat under a heat lamp too long. But we fully intend to try it again. We always start at PO resorts and it's convenient. So I would definitely give it a try. :)

We eat there whenever we stay at POR for an easy, low key, non rushed meal. Our first trip back in 2010 I don't remember it being anything super amazing, but not bad, either. We ate there again on our last trip (January '15) though and really enjoyed it. I can't remember what I ate (DH would though!) but it was yummy enough I am tempted to make the trek back to POR to have it again on our next trip. I think most places can be hit or miss regardless but I'd def suggest giving it a try if for no other reason than simplicity which on that last night can be very important - and trying new things is always a plus no matter how it goes imo (how else would you know otherwise ;) )

I have eaten solo at Boatwright's twice. Once when I was staying at POR and once when I was at POFQ. The menu doesn't really appeal to me but each time I found something that I enjoyed. I wanted a sit down meal with out having to travel far. Both of my visits were good experiences.

That said, I love Olivia's. The food is good and more appealing to me. If you have a car it is less than 5 minutes away from POFQ, or a very short cab ride. You could also get there via the boats to DS but allow plenty of time. DS and I did that once and it took us 2 hours.
