Hello everyone,
I've been to WDW many times, but have never stayed at the YC, where we will be in December. I'd like to know if the boat is worth taking to DHS, and what is the order of the resorts on its route?

Believe it or not, my sis was just at the BC, and she didn't know. She never took the boat- which made me wonder if it's worth trying?

Thanks!

How did she get to DHS? You can walk or take the boat. It's worth it if you don't want to walk. After BC/YC, it will go to the Swan/Dolphin (I don't think it goes to the Boardwalk first at that point, but it might), then to DHS. We like to walk if it's not too hot. And we usually go when it's not too hot.

As PP said, it goes to Swan/Dolphin first then to HS (same on the way back, Swan/Dolphin first then to YC/BC).

If you're a get to the park as early as possible type like me, I think walking is the way to go in the morning (unless a boat headed toward HS is just happening to approach the dock).

Going back in mid-afternoon, I'd be partial to taking the boat (same if I were returning to HS in late afternoon/early evening).

Around park closing and/or after Fantasmic just got out, I'd probably plan on walking because, at that time of night, I've heard the line for the boat is insane (in that regard, I'd probably take the way back through Boardwalk, taking the shortcut by the Luna Pool).

Yes, the boat is definitely worth it, and more often than not it will be just as quick or quicker than walking. The walk takes 15 to 20 minutes, depending on your group and how fast you walk.

As for the boat, there are two routes. The route you are interested in to get to the Studio starts at Epcot, goes to the BW, then to YC/BC, then Swan/ Dolphin, and finally the Studios. There is a reverse route getting back from the Studios. Boats headed to the Swan/Dolphin and Studios dock on the right side of the YC/BC dock (as you are looking toward the BW), while boats arriving from the Studios and Swan/Dolphin (headed to BW and Epcot) dock on the left.

Once you are on the boat at the YC/BC dock it takes about 15 minutes to get to the Studios. How long it takes you to get to the Studio depends on how long you have to wait for a boat. If you see a boat pulling away from the right side of the dock before you get there that is a bad thing. You will have to wait about 15 minutes for the next boat to arrive, and your travel time (including waiting) will be 30 minutes. This is when you might want to consider walking. If you see a boat on it's way to the BW from Epcot, on en route to the YC/BC from the BW, sit tight and enjoy the boat ride.

We just got back from the YC and took the boat to DS everytime. It is quicker to walk there, but we always took the boat.

YC/BC, then Swan/Dolphin and then to DS...home is the reverse. Boardwalk is the stop after YC/BC.

We really liked the YC and hope you will too.

I'm so glad I asked! Thank you so much, everyone. It sounds like the boat is definitely a good option.

My sis had a car and I believe they drove everywhere. I still can't believe she didn't just go for cruise just for fun!

We will have a car, too, but I don't want to use it if I don't have to. Also, the "kids" are 20, 18 and 14 so we won't all be together all of the time, as I suspect my DH and I will probably head back to the resort a mite earlier than they will. We picked the YC for its location, and all of the transportation options.

I have RA and so will be renting an ECV, so I don't mind "walking" to DHS and back. :) I will probably beat them there either way!

Thanks again. I'm really looking forward to this trip!
