We are staying at POR in August and are planning a day at DTD. Where does the boat drop you off - at the Westside end or Marketplace? Also is it much of a walk from one end of DTD to the other? Wondering since we'll have young children with us.

The boat takes you to Marketplace. From the marketplace dock there is another boat that goes to the West Side. The walk is probably 15 minutes leisurely pace, with young kids probably a little bit more with all the stops you'll be doing.

It drops you off at the Marketplace section. It is a pretty long walk, but then again when we went it was day 4 of our trip and walking from one side of the hotel room to the other seemed like alot by then LOL. There are also ferrys from Marketplace to Westside but they only run after a certain time though and I can't remember what time.

We stayed at POFQ and loved the boat ride to DTD! It's a nice ride and it drops you off at the Market place, sort of by Rain Forest Cafe. The boat is one of the best things about staying at Port Orleans IMHO.

We also enjoyed the boat trip to DtD. Saw the golf course along the way. I imagine now you can see Saratoga springs resort and it's developement. We bussed from DtD to our next destination.

Occassionally, if you get a really nice driver, they will drop you off at the West Side, but they do not pick you up from there. It wouldn't hurt to ask when you get on the boat :)

Yes during the day trip from POR to DTD you can see Saratoga Springs really clearly. You can also see the old treehouses
