Boat from OKW to DTD.....

I know this has been asked a gazillion times, but I am having trouble doing the search...thought I could get a quick response here!

How long is the trip from OKW to DTD? Also, how long is the walk (just in case we are partying at PI until after the boat stops running!)

You probably don't want to walk at night since I don't think the path is lit. Just take a bus back to OKW. It takes about 30 minutes to go from OKW to SSR to DTD.

So the boat ride takes 30 minutes? Yikes! That is a pretty long ride! I will probably do it, cuz I really dislike taking buses while on vacation. We will have our car, so that is always an option...but one thing we love about WDW is parking our car and rarely using it for the entirety of our trip.

Sorry, just bumping...does it REALLY take 30 minutes EACH WAY to go from OKW to DTD? How long does it take to drive to DTD from OKW? i was hoping to leave the car behind, but 30 minutes is a pretty long time! DH and I have some SEROIUS partying to do ...and we CAN'T be late! LOL

Driving time (depending on traffic) might take 10 minutes + time finding a parking space at DTD and walking into the section of DTD you're headed.

The boat ride itself I think is closer to 20 minutes dock to dock. Of course you may have to wait at either or both docks for the boat.

Over all they're proably about equal.

The drive doesn't take long, finding a parking place is what takes so long. Take the bus and relax. When you leave OKW, turn left instead of right (towards SSR). Then turn left at the light on Bonnet Creek. Go down to the second light (first light you can turn left at) and turn left. DTD (Westside) will be on your left. You will find it easiest to find parking places on the Westside. Marketplace side never has vacant parking places. (Just head towards Typhoon Lagoon and you'll be in the right direction).

If you drive past SSR and hit the Marketplace first, you get into a lot more traffic.

The boat ride from West Side is about 15 minutes. You have a stop at SSR and then go directly to OKW. Since there are no other boats after 11:30, they tend to go faster in the wake area than during the day. We love the ferry rides and take them as much as possible.

Trying to avoid driving, in case we have some "grown up" drinks. This is our first trip without our DD so we may go a little nutso

I don't mind 30 minutes if that includes waiting for the boat, stopping at SSR etc. I am hoping it is closer to 20 minutes, though.

Thanks again. We will probably only be going to DTD once this trip, so I guess I ought to just relax and let it take as long as it takes and just ENJOY IT!
