How long can I expect it to take me to get from MK to the Wilderness Lodge by boat? I am trying to figure out if it is worth it to leave for lunch at WL or if it will eat up too much time.

I am assuming it would take longer to take monorail/tram to parking lot and then drive over instead of just take the ferry over, right?

Thanks for any help! :goodvibes

I would say max of 10-15 if you take the boat. Also make sure you that you get on the correct boat from MK to WL, there are several boats that will get you there, but some will make stops at other resorts first. I think it's the red flag boats that go just between WL and MK.

The WL boat will also go to FtW..but will most likely stop at WL first, then continue on to FtW. It is very clearly marked at the MK boat dock. If the boat is just leaving as you get there, you may have to wait about 15 mins for the next one. Then, it's about 10-15 mins on the boat. YOu can also walk over to the CR and take the boat to WL from there if you see the MK boat just leaving the dock.

No ... sorry, but FtW and WL have separate boats from the MK. They were split out quite a while ago ... I think last summer. Only the Contemporary boat still stops at both

The RED launch is MK-WL, GREEN is MK-FtW, BLUE is CR-WL-FtW.

Crap!!! Okay...here's the way this is gonna go henceforth....I refuse to answer anymore boat questions. I can't seem to wrap my pea brain around the boat schedules...so you get to answer 'em all. :lmao::thumbsup2

Don't forget besides the boat there is also a bus that goes from the Magic Kingdom to the Wilderness Lodge, so you have a second option for getting there and I personally think the bus would actually be faster.

What??!?!?!? The bus over the boat!?!?!? NEVER!!! ;)
Life is a journey... take the boat you will love it. We love the WL and one of the main reasons is the boat between MK and WL. It takes 12 minutes from dock to dock.

I felt as if the boat was more reliable and came more often, sometimes with the buses you may never know :confused3

actually right now you're both half right. There are times of the day when the green and red routes get combined so that a boat can be taken out of service for cleaning. During EMH, we frequently combine the routes as well. But as a general rule, they are separate routes most of the time.

Thanks! I was pretty sure I remembered being on a boat, from the MK, that went to WL and then on to FtW in August, but my brain gets fuzzy. Maybe it was one of those times you mentioned.

Just goes to show -- you can't believe everything you read on The Hub!:)
