Boat from BC to Epcot?

I keep reading about the boat from BC to Epcot and am confused. I thought you walked from BC to Epcot. Where does the boat take you? to the Front Entrance or to the IG? Somewhere else? How long does it take? I will be staying there in NOvember and have booked a tour I have to get start at guest services in Epcot and so am wondering the best way to get there. Thanks.

There is a boat that will take you from BC to Epcot but it's easier to walk. I believe the boat actually picks up in front of the YC which is a little further away.
You can walk from the BC to the International Gateway in Epcot in about 5-6 minutes.

Walking and boat are the 2 options from BC to Epcot. Walking is actually quicker (IMO) than the boat, as the walk to the boat dock from the BC lobby is about the same distance as the walk to IG at EC. The boat drops off only at IG. There is no access by boat to the front gate. The walk from IG to the front entrance is about 10 minutes.

Red, the boat moves fairly slowly, and it will probably go across the lake to pick up folks at the Boardwalk before heading to Epcot. Fall1 is right - you would catch the boat at the dock which is basically on the YC side of SAB, so you would actually backtrack from BC to get to the dock. Either way, you'll enter at the International Gateway - you're going to have to walk to the front of the park to get to where your tour will start.

Also, I don't believe there is bus service to Epcot from BC, so your choices will be to walk or take the boat.

When my family stayed at the Beach Club, they decided to take the boat (it was just docking to pick up guests) and I walked to Epcot..to prove to them it would be so much faster. I was waiting for them for quite a while.
