Anyone else just notice the change to the late May/early June points for a standard studio at BWV? It used to be 10 pts during the weekday, which meant we could use our 50 pts for 5 nights. They've bumped it to 11 pts for 2026. I was already wanting to add on there in a year or two, but still am a little disappointed we'll lose a night until we do.

Interesting, did they lower the corresponding Pool/Boardwalk? Or, did they just shift the season?

Yes, I think there was a thread on this last year when the points charts came out. They increased the lowest points (Jan/May/Sept/Dec) and decreased for the summer months. Hopefully this will reduce demand for the most popular low points months. Very annoying for you though! Only adjusted the resort view studios across seasons, not the other views.

Always buy more points than you "think" you need...this has been an issue for decades and catches lots of members by surprise. It can ruin plans for sure if you can't borrow.

Sorry they got you! :badpc:

I can understand your frustration, but it doesn't have to impact you for a long time. If you just borrow an extra 5 points from the next year then you have 10 years without a missed night until you need to add on! :) (Unless of course you're already living on borrowed points!)

this is a great point, I guess I need to get over my loathing for borrowing.

Yup and you can always just buy a transfer of points from someone as you get closer to missing a whole trip to restart the 10 year window.

I am so glad when DVC adjusts the point charts. They should be actively trying to get all rooms to book at roughly the same speed after hitting 11 months.

Yea we bought contract at BWV in addition to smaller contract years ago specifically for this reason. No regrets

I borrowed points during this points year (Dec-Dec) for the first time since I bought DVC in 1996 - and honestly it has had me freaking out ever since. I bought 440 points so I always had enough for any stays I needed with my typical travel plans for Disney - but last December I was with a big group and ended up staying for 2 more days than I normally do - in order to cover the rest of my trips for the year, I needed to borrow 17 points.

As I've been booking and planning my trips for next year, I've booked a normal December trip and a February trip. Just to be safe and make sure I'm OK on points next time, I'm looking to book a June trip at the Wilderness Cabins because they're so much less points than any other option - that will let me stay under the 423 remaining point total, still book my regular September 2026 trip, and get back to normal again.

I know borrowing is a very regular and normal thing for most, but I hated doing it and have spent the entire year feeling like I did something wrong. :)
