No DVC resort is bad, but BWV is my least favorite. I'm a big fan of getting away from it all after I leave the park and the BW is right in the middle of it all. You can walk to Epcot or Disney Hollywood Studios from the BW and you are only a short busride away from Downtown Disney, the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. You can also take a boat to Epcot or DHS.

There is a miniature golf course over by the Swan and Dolphin which are right across the water from the BW.

I prefer Beach Club over Boardwalk, but they are both great and in a great location. Not sure what you heard that's bad about it, but I don't really know anything bad about it. I have quite a few friends who consider that their preferred resort.

Those are the only DVC resorts in walking distance of two parks (DHS and Epcot) and Boardwalk is on the Boardwalk as well.

From 6:30 PM - 10:00 PM at random locations along the Boardwalk they have various entertainers such as Magicians, Mimes and etc.

Their Luna Park Clown pool has a great theme and in my opinion it's the best one in Walt Disney World.

My favorite Table Service Restaurant is also located at the Boardwalk which happens to be the ESPN Club.

They have some great Quick Service locations which is Boardwalk Bakery, Boardwalk Pizza Window, Boardwalk To Go, Seashore Sweets and their Funnel Cake stand.

We stayed at BWV and had a really good experience. I was afraid it would be noisy just because of the location, but it wasn't at all (we were on the 4th floor overlooking the pool). We liked going down to the boardwalk at night, and the kids really enjoyed the pool. It's also easy to walk over to the Beach Club to get ice cream or walk/take a boat ride to Epcot or DHS. Personally, I'd keep the reservation and try it out! :thumbsup2

BWV is my home resort and I've never had a bad experience, probably about 15 stays.

Don't know how old you are, OP, but Jelly Rolls Bar and Atlantic Dance Hall are right next to BWV on the Boardwalk and both offer night time fun.

there's not much to do but hang in an old fashioned room with disney tv. you'll probably have to sleep on the fold out couch.....

be sure to bring lots of video games because if you get a bw view room, you won't enjoy the view. it's too much water and beautiful buildings with boats and possibly fireworks going off at nite

and, you'll have to walk the ten minutes to epcot and hollywood studios, esp if you don't like boats.

stay off the boardwalk at night...there are people out there carrying on til all hours having fun playing games, eating and watching the street performers. I've heard that's extremely noisy if you don't shut your sliding door

and beware of the espn club - I hear they have tv screens with nothing but sports on them and wings and beer and soda and nachos to eat

there is a scary clown pool and a quiet pool and a community center and you can rent a bike or a movie....if you want to pay for the movie you can't....they wont let you use money, just your room card if you are a member

and the internet is wireless and free, don't use it....it's a trap

you could walk for miles inside those halls....people have been known to be lost since 1996

and the dining....they have a flying fish cafe ...imagine...trying to eat a flying fish!! And a greek place, plus they sell ice cream, candy, pizza and they actually have a bakery! anything just to get your dollar!

Oh and I forgot the screen door...don't forget to close it...the souvenirs might get out!

people are actually expected to sit around here in a rocking chair on a porch!

and there are scary chairs in the lobby....some so big you might get swallowed up

I could go on and on about why you shouldn't stay here

are you going soon? I'll be there next week.....could't get nothing else at 11 months......

:lmao:Priceless! Actually, any resort has both lovers and haters-sometimes within the same family. For DS, it's his favorite resort by far. When I gave him the option of staying at ANY DVC resort, he chose there. DH is just the opposite-he said he'd stay at any DVC resort except BWV. "Don't EVER make me stay there!" The closest he's gotten is to visit DS there.

Am at BWV right now, and we're having a great stay!

I think you have to tell me what you mean by bad. BWV is not right next to the MK, so for some, that's bad!

Not our favorite, but there's nothing "bad" about it. The location is convenient, but we prefer a more restful resort.

Of all our stays at WDW, BWV is our fave...we've stayed there twice. Here is where we've stayed in order of fave to least fave:
1- BWV (location)
2- Contemporary (location)
3- OKW (room size/layout and less points)
4- VWL (nice and quiet)
5- SSR (don't ever plan to stay here again...no need to)
6- POR (won't stay here again either...it's just regular hotel room and we are a family of 5)

I think BWV is great for families with kids. especially kids who are older and can do things on their own (like walk to and from Epcot). The walk to Epcot is quick and easy...sure beats the busses from other resorts. There are a ton of dining choices at Epcot (world showcase has many options) and in the boardwalk area (Cape May...Beaches and Cream...Kouzzina...Yachtsman...the bakery...ESPN...aomong others). I don't know how old OP is, but my DS-15 and DDs-13 love to eat at Disney...that's pretty much what makes the trip for DS. And staying at BWV makes it easy for them to eat where they want.

The walk over to HS is longer, but very do-able and, again, better than the busses. The boat is nice too. I would also suggest going into Epcot and taking the monorail to get to MK...to avoid the busses.

You will love BWV...enjoy!

We love Boardwalk!! It is so close to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. You can just get up and go in the morning. So great with kids!

The boardwalk room were refurbished in 2009-2010 and nicely done at that. It is an enjoyable walk to EPCOT and to the restaurants at the Swan and Dolphin. Nice vibe in the lobby, interesting bar close by on the inn side , but most of all it is very fun to watch the action if you have a boardwalk view. A lot of brides seem to want to get married in the pavilion right off the boardwalk, they sure don't seem to think it is bad.

I love the walk over to EPCOT, listening to the music along the way. The international walkway is the best way to enter that park, especially during food and wine and the flower and garden festivals.

I had some outstanding meals at the Flying Fish on the boardwalk.

My DD16 and her friends love the entertainers. There was one young dark haired juggler DD 16 was really impressed with last year.

I don't think any of the DVC resorts are bad, they are just all very different. I like the new room decor and being close to Epcot and the Studios is nice.

I prefer BCVs over BWVs but it is certainly not a bad resort by any means.

You forgot about the creepy clown slide pool.

Though I completely agree. Others shouldn't want to book there. It makes it harder to get my reservation.

Well played madam, well played...

OP sounds like he/she is young so let me try and speak to you in your own language. There is a candy store and ice cream parlor within walking distance!
