We have become Beach Club resort people the past two years. My daughters love SAB and we love the proximity to Epcot. What would we love about the Boardwalk if we were to stay there? Looks beautiful and I was thinking of maybe switching it up this year:)

We're also thinking of trying Boardwalk too. We like how there's so much going on at night there. It seems so much more entertaining at night as well.

Until our last trip we always stayed at the BWVs. We loved the resort but weren't able to get a reservation for our trip this past Aug. so we actually stayed at the BCVs for the first time and loved them. We are going back to the BC in Aug. since the only view at the BWVs is a standard view and I prefer the preferred view. The Boardwalk is a laid back resort. The pool areas is nice and definitely not as hectic as SAB (we never actually used SAB on our stay preferred the villa pool). There is a great quiet pool just past the pool with the slide that we liked to use. Not sure if you are doing the Inn or the Villas, but both have had recent refurbs so everything was really nice and new the last time we stayed there. You definitely wouldn't be disappointed with the resort. Don't let all the talk of long hallways scare you, we just used the nearest stairway.

WDWKOOK just started a great new information thread for BWI: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2861186

Here's what we loved about our stay there: the location, the lovely rooms, our view of Illuminations from our balcony, the entertainment/atmosphere on the Boardwalk at night, and MOST ESPECIALLY the incredibly friendly & helpful CMs.

It's a really wonderful resort; I highly recommend it! :goodvibes

Hi sammysmom! We love BC and have stayed there many times. Our most recent BC stays have been in March 2010, July 2010, February 2011 and August 2011. But we also love BWI and it's with BC at the top of our list of favorites. They are so similar, and (aside from the pools) it's great to be able to enjoy both resorts when staying at one of them (shops, restaurants, movies, etc.)

There are several things that made our August 2011 BWI stay particularly wonderful:

1) Club Level. We've stayed CL at both BWI and BC. The BWI club lounge was wonderful and particularly convenient, given the way the BWI is set up. At BC, it's convenient either way - with CL, we just stop by the lounge, but with non-CL, we can just walk the interior corridors to the BC Marketplace for coffee or a snack. At BWI, there are several different CS locations, and they are all out on the Boardwalk. And there are refill locations for the refill mugs at BWI, but they are not self-serve like at BC Marketplace. But CL resolves that issue entirely. The CMs at BWI CL are really amazing and we felt very welcome. Point is, I think CL at BWI was a big part of our positive experience there.

2) Balcony/View/Boardwalk Atmosphere. We had an incredible Boardwalk view. Our balcony was huge and we were right above Flying Fish, so the water was right there in front of us. We could see the MK fireworks from our balcony at night, and Illuminations from the club lounge balcony. I love a water view, and the view of BC/YC is particularly nice. The Boardwalk was lively at night, but not too loud. I was initially concerned about it being too busy, but didn't feel that way at all. Actually, it was very peaceful in the morning and because we stayed there pre-cruise, we were able to spend more time at the resort than usual in the morning.

3) Pool/Slide. Our entire family definitely prefers SAB, but I think the slide at BWI is outstanding. The clown didn't bother us one bit and we had a lot of fun on the slide.

4) Split Stay. We actually stayed at BWI CL, then Dream Cruise, then BC CL in August. That way, we had the chance to try BWI, but still used SAB when staying at BC for the end of our trip - perfect!

So here's what we've decided (at least for now) regarding the two: If we're visiting in the summer, we'll definitely book BC in there somewhere - it's hard to pass up SAB in the summer. If we're visiting in the winter and we don't plan to swim as much, that's a great time for BWI. But when book BWI, it will be CL. Next February, we're doing a multi-split stay and will stay at both.

Hope that helps!

Since I have started staying at the Boardwalk Inn it has become my favorite resort and personally I think it has a much better theme and atmosphere then the Beach Club.

They are just as close when walking to the International Gateway entrance of Epcot, so to those who say the Beach Club is closer I say it's a tie. Although if you were to take the Boat that goes there once it leaves the Boardwalk the next stop is Epcot, so I say that gives a slight edge to the Boardwalk when compared to walking from the Beach Club. However the Boardwalk is the closest of the Epcot Resorts when walking to Hollywood Studios.

The various entertainers that perfrom everynight from 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM are fun to watch.

Something else to factor in is that the Boardwalk has the most Quick Service locations among the Epcot Resorts. There is the Boardwalk Bakery, Boardwalk Pizza Window, Boardwalk To Go, Boardwalk Joes, Seashore Sweets and Tasty Sensations.

Their Luna Park Pool area is a lot less busy and crazy when compared to Stormalong Bay. Now a big reason for that it's a lot smaller when comparing both locations, however I personally think it's a lot better and I say Stormalong Bay is very overated. So the fact it has a sand in the pool doesn't impress me.

Finally if you see others mention the Boardwalk has long hallways well the Beach Club hallways are just as along and this depends on where your room is located. Plus I personally thought the Beach Club hallways were a lot longer, however that's only my opinion from what I saw.
