We are on a waitlist for a 1 bedroom boardwalk view for 9/2 - 9/10, what are my chances of getting this????? We have a 1bedroom pool view already reserved but we really want the boardwalk view. Anyone have any experience with waitlist for these rooms in September!!! A little Pixie dust please!!!:flower3: :flower3:

I think it might be tough. You are now within the 30 day period where points for canceled reservations will go into a holding account. Of course there is always the chance for cancellations, but at this point I don't think they'll receive many.

Sending pixie dust your way!

Unfortunately it doesn't look good. Plan on staying where you are and enjoying a wonderful time at WDW.

At least you are in the hotel you want...I still am waiting for months on my BWV waitlist for December and I am sick of it. I hope you have a good trip-and I would call every day to check-you might get it...you never know.:wizard:

Don't forget that ms might be holding back some rooms at BWV in case they need to displace more AKV Concierge guest :(

I have never gone in Sept. but I have had a room become available at check-in or while at WDW. Cancellations can happen at any time (I know that we have had to cancel within a week and have had to leave a day early). Remember that your waitlist ends 7 days out and you will need to call MS daily after that. And ask at the front desk when you get there. Good luck!

I've been on the waitlist for both BCV and BWV for 9/12-15 for quite a while. I doubt I'll get either one. I'm booked at VWL, so it's fine.

The good news is that the OP can continue to try to get BW view right up until the last minute becuase the points for both PV and BW view are the same. The OP doesn't need to worry that points will go into holding. The OP shouldn't forget to call MS every day for the 7 days prior to check-in as there is no longer a waitlist at this time.

We had 1 night in PV and the rest in BW view for an Oct trip and it came thru the last day possible. We also had 1 night in PV and the rest in SV in late April and that night never came thru (they did upgrade us to BW view for that night when we would have preferred a downgrade to SV!).

Best of luck -- Suzanne

OT-Anyone surprised that the BW view is not a higher point category than the preferred view? Seems to me that the BW view is a bigger step up from the Preferred view than is the Preferred view from the Standard view. Or is it just me?

Separating the Boardwalk View villas from the other Preferred View villas is a recent change. It was made well after the resort villas due to the the way the "units" were defined in the POS.

Contractually, DVC cannot change the total number of points it takes to reserve a "unit" for every night of the year. (Many here believe it is for the resort as a whole, but that is not technically correct). For the BWV, the units were defined as a specific portion of the resort (a group of villas), and not the whole resort. I don't think the units were defined in such a way as to make the adjustment legally possible. I'm sure DVC would have done that if they legally could.

When the standard view rooms were established, the resort was only partially sold and IIRC, DVC actually reduced the total number of points they planned to sell in order to make that happen.
