Ok, so we have it down to two resorts I think, either BW or Poly. for our stay.

Which one for honeymoon?

I'm looking at Living seas for a reception, I'm wishing for a hot tub (which is a stike against Poly) but definitely want a romantic resort and a large room for everyone to get ready (and fit inside!) for wedding day.

I vote for the Poly!!! I just got home from there about an hour ago (we went to Ohana's for dinner) After we ate we just walked around for a bit because its just so beautiful. Plus you can see the Water pageant and Mk fireworks from the beach there!!!

I'm voting BoardWalk - it's right next to Epcot, with lots to do at night, and if you rent DVC points, you can get a big ol' 1-bedroom villa to get ready in for cheap! :thumbsup2

I have a friend who swears by Poly, but friends who stay at Bordwalk quite often, but personally, I've never stayed at either, so I'm no help.

I love the Poly! It was wonderful for our wedding & our wedding part of trip.

I would definitely go Poly. While I think GF is great, it just doesn't scream honeymoon. To me it says upscale hotel. The Poly, however, is very romantic in my eyes especially with the dark wood interior. It feels more like you're not in Disney, you're on your honeymoon, but only a monorail away from Disney.

And I agree about the hot tub, and I've also heard that the Poly doesn't offer king size beds (don't know if that's a factor for you). But, I know that a lot of times when I want to use the hot tub, so does everyone else...so although hot tubs can be romantic, I don't think it will be when you're with other people. But I do think you'll enjoy either one you end up choosing.

The lack of King size beds would end the discussion for me(DH is 6'4").

We prefer light and bright interiors(I liked VWL, but it seemed really dark especially in the bathroom).

So it would be Boardwalk for me.

Lurky, the only problem with staying in a DVC villa is you end up convincing yourself to buy points yourself!:rotfl2:

We spent our honeymoon at the Boardwalk, so I might be a bit partial.;) We absolutely LOVED the Boardwalk! I loved the theming and the colors and the ambiance. I think if I could live in another time and place, THAT is where I would want it to be.

We originally wanted the Poly but there were some "issues" (the Poly was going through renovations at the time and there were no guarantees about room reservations etc). So, we changed our minds.

One of the major factors that went in to our decision was the "after hours" stuff. It looks like you are planning your wedding for September. At that time of year the parks close earlier (like 9pm for MK, 5pm for AK) so you have a lot more time at your resort in the evenings.

The Boardwalk offers "evening entertainment" around Crescent Lake. There's the Atlantic Dance Hall, JellyRolls, even street performers on the boardwalk itself. You can rent surrey bikes, play carnival games, and there are four other resorts within walking distance.

While the Poly is beautiful, I think the after park hours offerings at the Boardwalk make it a better choice for certain times of the year.

Just my thoughts...

i vote poly...if you are going with standard rooms at both resorts. I've stayed at both and by far the rooms at hte Poly are the largest standards.

We just stayed at the Boardwalk last month for my daughter's wedding. I loved it especially the early morning walking out onto the boardwalk area it was just beautiful and quiet. I loved sitting in the area near the water so pretty and calm. Of course the best part is walking right over to EPCOT in the mornings and right back to your hotel in the evening.

Thanks for the input, keep it coming! I'm actually kinda of surprised everyone is voiting for Boardwalk but these opinions are great. I would have never thought about king sized beds and the entertainment at night!
