Which of the 2 villa resorts (BWV or BCV) would you stay at and why?
We are my wife and 2 very little ones along with my mother in-law.We know we will get a 2 bedroom villa but unsure where to stay. I like to be close to the pool and snack area, I rent a car so transportation is not important. We like Epcot not big on MGM.
Thanks in advance.

BC is a little closer to Epcot than BW, so if Epcot is a high point for you, then I'd pick the BC. They are equal in amenities etc, slightly different but equally nice theming.

WE just returned from 12 nites at the BCV in a 1 bedroom. and it was wonderful! There is a path that makes Epcot a short walk from the BCVillas. Also there is the main pool with some sandy beach areas for young children to play (bring a few sand toys!) There is a nice snack bar near the main pool and also Beaches and Cream with eat in or take out.The store in the BC also carries a small selection of foods for the villas.I do hope in the future they will put in a snack shop at the main hotel. Possibly where Ariels is would be perfect!! Beaches and cream has a limited breakfast selection-cereals,muffins,donuts ect..but no eggs or french toast sticks!WE asked for and got a room on the 5th floor that faced illuminations. I could see the globe while lying in bed at nite! WE ALSO WATCHED ILLUMINATIONS FROM OUR BALCONIES! Hope this helps? We have also stayed at BWV on previous occasions and enjoyed it there also. Handi,

I am still awaiting our first trip home, but I recently ran into a DVC member in a Disney Store who has their home resort at BWV. Here is what she told me...If you have little ones, BCV would probably be better for you. It seems as though she noticed that BWV was more geared towards families with teenagers.

Plus...as Disney Doll mentioned, BCV is closer to the International Gateway at Epcot than BWV.

I don't think you'll lose either way you go, but from what I have heard the BCV is a little quieter.

One other thing you might consider...I have heard of renovations taking place over at Boardwalk. Don't know if its restricted to the Inn or the Villas as well. You might want to check into that.

Good choice! Your children will love the pool. Parts of it are geared towards younger children with zero depth entry and shallow waters.

It's one of those "Six of one, half dozen of the other" kind of things. I have stayed at both the BWV and BCVs and *MY* personal favorite is the BCVs. It is our "home" and I like it for SAB, the short walk to EPCOT and B&C. I do, however, like BW for it's proximity to Jellyrolls, though ;)

Robinb, notices you are from Madison. I was just there this past weekend for the Drum Corp Finals and got to see some of your city and had a SUPER time at Camp Randal!!!!

I agree with everything said in the other posts.....IMHO though, there is one downside to BCV if you have very young children: the pool is so big and windy, and it's difficult to get from one side to another, so it's difficult to watch young children there. Also the entrance to the slide is separated from the pool by a major walk way.

When we bought in, BCV wasn't yet selling, but I couldn't wait for it to open primarily because of what I'd heard about SAB. Last year we pool-hopped over to SAB though and learned that it wasn't as great for us as we thought it'd be. We have 3 kids, so we're out-numbered, and it took lots of energy to keep up with them. The kids love SAB, but it's definitely not a relaxing 'sit by the pool experience' for parents.

If your kids are very, very young and will happily dig in the sand for hours, you'd probably enjoy BCV. If they are pre-schoolers/early grade-schoolers who might be adventurous beyond their abilities, I think it's a difficult pool. If they are old enough to be self-sufficient in the water, perhaps mid-grade school or older, they'd probably be fine. In a few years, when the kids are older and can all swim, I think we'll want to try BCV, but because of the pool, we're sticking with BWV for now.

Again.....it's just my opinion. It really is a great pool with awesome features.....we're just not in the right stage of our lives to fully enjoy it yet.

There are pros and cons to each resort when considering your traveling group. BCV have dedicated 2 br which will soon have 2 queens vs 1 queen and a sleeper sofa in the second br which will be nice for your mil and the kids in the 2 br; BWV does not have any dedicated 2 BR and all the 2 BR have 1 queen and a sleeper sofa. BC tends to have more families with younger children vs BWV which has some families with young children but tends to have a larger number of families with teenagers or adult only parties. BWV has more quick and easy fast food options than BCV due to the stands on the boardwalk, the bakery and the take out pizza window, BCV only has B&C. BWV has nighttime entertainment such as magicians, jugglers, rolling piano player, a DJ on the weekends during busy times, etc, BCV does not have nighttime entertainment. BWV has more rooms that the fireworks from Illuminations and Fantasmic can be seen from then BCV does. BCV has a zero depth entry in a section of the pool and a nice sand play area for little ones, BWV does not, however as someone else posted SAB is a wonderful pool but it is a very large and winding pool and does have some very deep sections which could be a big problem for young children who are not yet able to swim. Both resorts are wonderful resorts and you really can't go wrong with either one and they are about as similiar as any 2 DVC resorts are going to get but they do each have some differences. I hope you have a wonderful trip wherever you stay!
