Boardwalk Villas - having regrets! Help!

Uhm, The Boardwalk Inn and Villas are far away my favorite Disney resort and I've stayed at almost all of them. Don't second guess the place because it's near perfection.

* It's fun to take the monorail back from the MK and then walk through Epcot on the way home.

Ooh ... I forgot about that little perk. It's a really nice post meal stroll down the right side of Epcot to the Boardwalk and you avoid the bus. Plus, EVERY bus stop seems to be hardwired to have a lot of coverage for the Magic Kingdom or the TTA. Either one lands you with a smooth monorail ride and a short walk home. Nice.

Jeez ... after this thread, I'm almost regretting my May reservations at AKL.

Almost ...

While it's really nice to walk through Epcot after taking the monorail from the MK, that can only be done with a park hopper. We did miss that feature this trip because we didn't park hop due to the new FP+ limitations (only available in one park). However, that would never make me love the Epcot resorts less. They are all great.

This is OT, but IMO FP+ requires a park hopper! You set your FP+ reservations for your second park and do rope drop and stand-by at another park.

Far and away, we loved the Boardwalk and would stay there again in a heartbeat. We seriously have a hard time choosing between BWV, OKW or Fort Wilderness cabins every trip. But even if we don't stay there, we valet park and spend time at the restaurants, bars, and use the boat to two parks. It's always going to feel like home. We shop at Seashore Sweets, Boardwalk Bakery and teh Screen Door for our souvenirs every trip. It's so beautiful to sit outside at Big River Grille at dusk, grab a Red Rocket
Ale and a burger and look at the resorts and Epcot from your table. The Yacht Club is so beautiful with the sun setting over the area. And the Boardwalk at night is gorgeous and fun.

Another perk we loved in the past was the Community Hall. Boardwalk has a lovely one, right at the villas quiet pool. We spent many afternoons in there doing crafts, playing games and swimming at the pools. It's lovely and secluded and it's along the waterway to DHS, so it's a really nice atmosphere there. With a 3 year old, you should absolutely spend time there. Our kids are getting to be too old to spend much time at Community Hall any more and we miss it.

Don't regret it, embrace it!!! We have stayed at every deluxe on property and BW is my FAVORITE!! We were just there last week. Walked to EP and DHS. Quick boat ride back from EP and DHS if you just can't do the walk. TONS of restaurants and things to do. LOVE IT!!!

BWV are our home resort and we LOVE it!! We've taken my parents along with us on several trips and stayed a few times at the BWV, then tried BLT and the VGF and they basically said that while they liked BLT and VGF, they don't want to stay anywhere else but the BW. They love it that much :) It's amazing!

The BWV's are one of my favorite resorts! There's just something lovely about staying there. Yes, it's not as convenient to the MK as BLT, but the Epcot resorts are still wonderful. You are close to 2 parks that you can walk to and the atmosphere of the Boardwalk area is great!

I think it's nice to at least try new resorts. Have a great trip!

Well, I get it. We stayed there once and while I feel like I would try it again ( changing a few things) my family will not. So…
I wouldn't request a quiet room. We need our sleep on vacation to enjoy our days to the fullest, but we ended up down a corridor that never ended! It was a crazy long walk. We were happy to see that there was actually a staircase that went to the pool, but it turned out to be a staircase that led to an outside smoking section. Yuck! Going to and from the pool we had to either walk thru a haze of smoke ( it was bad every time) or enter near the lobby ( and walk thru a very cold hallway).
Also, if you are coming from a park ( as we did- having a split stay) there is no clearly marked entrance to check in. Look for the large porch and huge flight of stairs going up to it, sort of across from a boat dock.
My ten year old was looking for kids to play with. There were lots of adults, but not one kid in the pool when we went. He ended up playing a pool game with some nice teens one night, though...
