Boardwalk View

We just booked a short trip to the WDW with a stay at the Boardwalk and have a studio with a Boardwalk view (first trip with our new DVC membership! ).

Can anyone tell me how the noise level is for that area at night?

By "lagoon view" I assume from the title of your post that it is indeed a "boardwalk view". That is a sub-category of the preferred views and is guaranteed.

The noise can vary. Early in the evening you have the Boardwalk Buskers (magicians, etc.) who draw small crowds. They are out of there by 9 - 10 PM. The boats also stop running around 10 PM.

The bigger, but unpredictable, chance for noise on the BW is if there is something going on at Atlantic Dance and at closing time at Jellyrolls (2:00 AM ?). Since at that hour everyone must exit through the Boardwalk lobby it can be a bit noisy on the Boardwalk. Upper floors are quieter.

The only time I had a noise issue was when I had a room on the 2nd floor above Big River. It was June and people were out late. I always request top floor and other than that time have always been 3 or above.

I always notice the noise in the Boardwalk view rooms and that has been both with 5th floor rooms and 2nd floor rooms. Each persons experience varies depending on their level of noise perception. I bring ear plugs.

There isn't a lagoon view at BWV. You have standard (which requires the fewest points) that looks out towards the parking lot and entrance to the resort. And you preferred - pool/garden or Boardwalk. These two view require the same amount of points, but BWview usually books up quickly. If you have pool/garden you will have either the Village Green (that looks out towards the boat dock over the Wyland Store area), the themed pool (Luna Park) or the leisure pool (non-themed pool or quiet pool, but it isn't quiet). So which do you have?

Boardwalk has a reputation as a noisy resort. We had a 2nd floor preferred that looked toward the lobby stairs leading from the parking lot under the lobby toward the boardwalk, directly over the wyland gallery, and we heard the crowds outside. The worst though were service carts being pushed over he stampcrete bricks, just echoing through our walls!

First of all congratulations and welcome neighbor! We stayed Boardwalk view the week after Thanksgiving - on the 2nd floor right next to Big River Grille and Brewing Works. (I had requested high floor but unfortunately the request was not able to be honored).

Maybe we don't have sensitive ears but we really didn't hear much at all from the people on the Boardwalk itself with the balcony doors shut. The ferry whistles start after 7am in the morning and we were wide awake by then.The only real "noise" we heard was when the Epcot fireworks went off around 9:35pm. (which btw we were able to have a great view of even on the 2nd floor) Will have to think about staying Boardwalk view with our baby granddaughter next year as she is a light sleeper.

Room location turned out to be very good for us. Same floor as elevators and main lobby. Close to "back" stairs out onto the Boardwalk. Close to ferry at Swan/Dolphin (which was nice on our return trips from Hollywood Studios). Couldn't complain and enjoyed our visit tremendously.

we stay BW view at least 2x a year, and really haven't had many noise problems (we found it MUCH less noisy than the BCVs, where the hallway yelling started before 6AM, and often went on past midnight).

it is a bit louder on the lower floors, but closing the balcony doors and insulated drapes made a huge difference. during busy times on weekends, you may (or may not) hear drunken ppl as they leave jellyrolls - normally, it doesn't last long though.

we have stayed almost everywhere else at WDW tho, and still find it the only resort we must go back to

I stayed in a second floor boardwalk view room, and it was pretty noisy, but after around 11pm it wasnt too bad

We stayed BW View at Halloween. We were 2nd floor right above the DVC model. I have zero noise complaints. If the balcony doors were open, yes there was noise. But as soon as we closed the doors and pulled the drapes. I didn't hear anything. Would do BW view again.

We've stayed in BWV-Boardwalk view rooms a lot. Over the years we've only had 1 real bad night where the bars let out and there was a shouting fight with 2 couples on the Boardwalk. I believe we were in room 5001...last room on the 5th floor towards the bars. Other then that it hasn't been that bad. Our truly bad experience, and it wasn't that bad, is the room right next to the elevators. We tend to sleep in and those things start real early in the morning.....noisy wine sound. But no complaints we are in Disney after all!

I've had a village green view (same room two times), and been on every floor with a boardwalk view...multiple times. The only time I noticed any noise was when we were right across from that basketball toss game. That danged bell would ring out constantly. BUT...it stopped by 11pm each night. I never had an issue with loud people. Well, there was one time that I was up around 1:30am (I'm older now so use the potty early in the morning!!), and I did notice some Jellyrolls people leaving. They had evidently had quite a good time that night!!!!
But, most times, if I'm already asleep, the noise from below hasn't bothered me.

The only time I had any noise issue was when I was right across from a basketball-type arcade game. I kept hearing "boing-boing-ding". But as a PP said, it stopped by 10:45 or so. And as for people talking about what floor you're on, I was on the fourth floor. Very quiet when I was on the third and even the second floors.

We've stayed in boardwalk view rooms and enjoyed them.....sometimes when the bars let out we have heard noise..but not every night or during every stay

We love the sounds of the Boardwalk; early morning joggers thumps as they run along, the music drifting up, the boats sounding their horns, people laughing having a great time, the bells on the surrey bikes, the strolling piano bike, the applauds of the crowds being entertained by the Boardwalk performers and best of all the sound of my wife, children and grandchildren enjoying themselves.

It just how we look at it or should I say hear it.

I assume you mean boardwalk view in which case there is not much difference wherever you are but higher floor rooms are quieter. Closer to Jellyrolls is probably a little less than closer to Village Green. You don't get any noise from Jellyrolls itself. When balcony doors are closed, the main noise you are going to hear is boat horns and sometimes there are very loud people passing by on the walk.
