I know there was a thread that posted a picture of BWV room designations Standard, Preferred and Boardwalk view. but can't find it. Any help? I am in a room by the green on the end and over the Wyaland gallery. Just wondering its designation....Thank you.

I think most of those rooms are just PV pool/garden not PBWView unless you are on the corner over the BW

Over the Wyland Gallery is Garden/Water, per the picture Mike posted. Did you reservation indicate Boardwalk View?

If your room ends in -051 it is considered a BW view room, even though it faces the village green. (I don't think this should be the case, but it is. We have had these rooms several times.) If your room is -053 or higher it is preferred pool/garden view.

Thanks guys...I know you all would know the answer...the room is 53...but what a great view...I am thrilled...we were supposed to have the pool/garden and I forgot to tell my husband to ask for garden or at least quiet pool view but lucked out with this wonderfull view and it is pretty quiet...that is why we usually like the standard view....it is mostly very quiet down there....and don't mind the walk either....but this is great...here for 2 weeks and then have to move for the last week to another room....don't know how that will work.... Thanks again for all your help.... Carol

I love your map!
If you don't mind, could you help answer a few questions for me.

Where do you catch the boat to Epcot or Hollywood?
Where dose the boat let you off at Ep. & Hlywd?
Could you walk to either of those parks from BWV?

Would you happen to know if BLT will have a boat launch or do you use the Contemporary's?

Thanks,
Melani

Still waiting to hear if we made it through ROFR!

Look to the right of the green line on the picture and you'll see the pier where the boat launch docks.

Where dose the boat let you off at Ep. & Hlywd?

At Epcot, it's right outside the International Gateway (between France and the UK). At DHS, the boat launch is right outside the park gates.

Epcot is closer. You can walk to BW, but it may be easier to take the boat.

Walk to Epcot from BW is about 7 minutes. Walk to Studios is about 15 - 20. The boat to Epcot is very quick but the boat to Studios takes a while because it goes from BW to BC/YC then to Swan/Dolphin then to Studios. We love the peaceful walk to Studios but if it is too hot or you are too tired to walk, it is faster to embark/disembark the boat to Studios at the Swan/Dolphin and walk to or from the BW via the bridge.

I just got back from a weekend in a boardwalk view studio (at least that is what I booked) and I had room #4055. So one room closer to the elevator than the OP. I had a feeling it is supposed to be a pool/garden view. The view of Illuminations was mostly obstructed, but we were able to see Wishes which was cool.

I have stayed at the Boardwalk Villas twice now. I love being near the pools with a pool view (especially the quiet pool) because I can watch my kids swimming from the balcony in the room. Also, I like the very short walk over to the pool from the room. This is great after a day at the parks when you are tired of walking and just want to head down to the pool for some rest and relaxation. I did have the parking lot view my first time here, and it wasn't all that great. I guess I am just a person who likes to wake up in the morning, go out on the balcony, and have a nice view.

Is there a room that is garden view that is close to the elevators and can see the boardwalk even if at an angle? TIA!!!

The OP is in one of those rooms. A group of rooms that overlook the Village Green (the grass square area in the center of the BWI/BWV resort where Wylands store is) are preferred garden views and you can see the boardwalk (at an angle) and all are close to elevators.

I love these rooms. I just spent five nights in 5061 (a dedicated studio), which had a nice view of the green and the Boardwalk :) It was a better view than a couple of my Boardwalk view rooms.

I am renting points and will have a boardwalk view studio in June! Will the DVC member have an actual room number for me? Or will I find out which room when we arrive? We'd love to see Wishes or Illuminations from our room or balcony, even from a distance. What sort of request should I make, if any?

You do not get your number until arrival. Wishes (at MK) is really too far away (miles) to see anything of moment (some streaks of light (fireworks) way off in the distance at best on a clear night even though you can look in the direction of MK. As to Illuminations, you can only see the higher fireworks from any boardwalk room. As to request, just ask for above 2d floor (there are a very small number of rooms on the second floor -- boardwalk level -- from which you are looking directly out at people walking by on the boardwalk.

Our 5th floor room (5041) had a great view of Illuminations and we saw a lot of the Wishes and MNSSH party fireworks at MK as well. The higher your floor the better the fireworks views.

Wow, it's a surprise to me that fireworks from MK are visible from BWV! We have seen them from the dock area of VWL, and that was fun too!

our 3rd floor studio had a great view of all three also (3029 ~ oddly, we almost always get 029 or 031, on 3rd, 4th, or 5th floor ~ at least twice a year for many years ~ we totally LOVE the view(s)!!!)

.....gosh, i can't believe it was just two weeks ago <sigh>

Just a quick correction. The 2nd floor is actually the lobby level and there are lots of rooms on that level. The Boardwalk level is the first floor and there are only a few rooms on that level.

The 2nd floor is very convenient because you can get to the busess and parking lot without using the elevator or stairs. However, when we had a room over the Screen Door store ont he 2nd floor, we felt like the balcony was not very private. We enjoyed our room on a higher floor much better. -- Suzanne
