I may try to book a BW View 2 BR for next Summer....or at least go on the waitlist at the 7 month mark....

Can you hear a lot of crowd noise late at night?

You can hear noise obviously when you're sitting out on the balcony. Once we closed the doors, we couldn't hear the crowd noise. We did hear that loud bell ring when that game with the shooting the water in the clowns mouth ended. Everytime somebody won. It really wasn't too many times, we go in Nov. By 11pm it was silent. We absolutely love the BW view. It's cool to sit out on the balcony at night and people watch. I would sit out there and rock my son to sleep, so it wasn't too noisy otherwise he would never have fallen asleep!

I've had a 1 Bedroom BW view during two stays, one in December and the other in October. Both times the rooms were more or less towards the Inn side. My experience is that on good weather evenings, especially on weekends up until about midnight, the BW is somewhat noisy if you have your balcony door open. With the door closed we couldn't hardly hear anything.

We have twice been above the shops on the Boardwalk down towards Jelly Rolls. We were awakened at 2am by noisy revelers leaving Jelly Rolls and Atlantic Dance but it didn't last long. We didn't mind the noise from the games. It is nice to sit out on the balcony and people watch.

I think the sound levels are effected by what floor you are on. We were in a Boardwalk view villa on the 3rd floor at the absolute farthest end on the hall (Jelly Rolls end) in August 2001. With the balcony doors open during early and mid evening hours, yes, you could here some sound from below (music). With the doors shut late at night, couldn't really hear anything (no problem sleeping).

With our doors closed, we could hear the Midway games, the boat docks and people leaving the bar. I think it depends on how quiet you think is quiet. We live in a place where we only get frogs and crickets past 10:00pm. When I lived in the city and was used to closer neighbors, more traffic, and sirens, it wouldn't have been any noise at all.

We had 2nd floor BW view room during President's week (so WDW is crowded), and it was noisy. The bell was ringing from the water gun game and people were loud until 2AM. We will probably avoid a BW view from now on.

We've stayed in a Grand Villa---3rd floor right in the center of the "midway" action and while you could hear activity, it wasnt overpowering. I think you can hear the "Friendships" from all over so that shouldn't be an issue compared to a non-BoradWalk view.
The people and music/games etc. are all part of the ambiance.

It is noisy even with the balcony doors closed, but the view is worth it. We had problems with the game bells, but we went to bed early a few nights cause our kids are still young. Also, a couple nights I got woken up way after midnight with drunks screaming and singing after leaving Jellyrolls.

Best advice? Just pack one of the noise machines - that plays white noise, ocean, rain, etc. We really liked having that view.

We too had the unfortunate pleasure of having a room down by JellyRolls. Horrible experience. Obnoxious people at 2AM. Lots of beer muscles!!

OT : Where did you get that pic with Jiminy and is that a recent pic?!? I had read awhile back Disney was ordering alot of Jiminy costumes to be made, but then never saw or heard anything...

We rented the Grand Villa, right above the General Store last New Year's ('04). We had the best views! It was a little noisy, but we got used to it after a while. It was worth it, just to sit out there and watch all the action!

We had a BWV with Boardwalk view last November but just for one night. We loved it so much we tried telling the front desk, "The next family scheduled to arrive called and said they couldn't make it!" :rolleyes1 Of course that didn't work, but it did entertain the cast members. We were not bothered by the noise and too tired to hear anybody at 2a.m.! Like others had said it was fun to sit on the balcony watch the people below.

We have always asked for the Boardwalk View upper floor. Most of the time we are on the 4th or 5th floor. A couple of times on the 3rd. It's not noisy with your balcony doors closed. Occasionally we would hear the boat horns in the morning. You can't beat the view for watching either the fireworks or for people watching. We love to sit on the balcony with a snack and just watch the action on the Boardwalk. it's also nice to sit on the balcony during the thunderstroms and watch what's going on. :earboy2:

We had the Grand Villa on the 3rd floor right above the midway games. My kids were awakened every night that we came back to the room early so that could get some sleep by the bell on the water game or the lobbing of the lobster. We loved the view during the day and the huge balcony was awesome, but I am not sure if I would do it again until the kids are older and we stay out later!

We heard people one night at 2 am. Wow, a stream of people headed toward the steps to leave Boardwalk. Very noisey. I was sleeping soundly but it only lasted about 5 minutes as people left the area. Usually with the door closed we didn't hear anything.

Have stayed all over the BWVs. The most noisy was on the second floor over the general store. Not from the guests but from the service and delivery trucks and personel at 4:45 am. That's when we were woken up evey morning. Third floor and up,no problem with the doors closed.
