We'll be staying in a BWV standard view studio soon. I've seen conflicting reports on the size of a studio. I've seen both 359 sq. ft. and also 412 sq. ft. listed as the size of the room. Can someone tell me which is right ? Thanks a bunch !!! :flower3:

412 is the dedicated unit.

359 is the lock off

depends upon which you get.

There are alot of pics on wdwig.com of the rooms for each resort.

Are most standard view villas one or the other? Is there any way to request one of the larger units?
There are both dedicated and lock off studios in all BWV booking categories. You can request dedicated. Just call MS to add the request to your reservation. You may or may not get it.

I know I've seen this somewhere. I don't know if was on this site or another, but it was a list (or database) of all the rooms at BWV by room number and type.

Does anyone else have a link to this?

This has come up before. The studios (all of them) are about 359 sq ft and 1BRs are about 712.

Here is what happened. When plans for building BWV were originally submitted for government approval and permits, the sq ft sizes indicated by the plans was the 412 for studios and 814 for 1BR. Shortly before construction began they were changed with the indicated sq ft at about 359/712. When Disney went to putting room size information on line in about late 1990s, it actually included the correct sq ft (the smaller numbers) and for years showed that. About three to four years ago, they redid the DVC website. For no explained reason, the room sizes incorporated into that redone site were the incorrect larger ones from earlier documents. That remained that way until about early 2008. If you sign in now to the DVC site and go to view resorts/Boardwalk Villas/accommodations, you will find that they no longer show any sq ft for the BWV rooms because they removed the references 412/814 etc. from there. The page link given above is actually to the previous window that existed before that latest update (and obviously can still be found). And, yes, the dedicated studios have the small daybed.

Thanks for the info. We will be staying in a Boardwalk view studio next summer and had NO idea that there were 2 different sizes! I will be on the phone tomorrow wtih MS to request a dedicated one.

Because there aren't 2 different sizes. The dedicated and lock-off studios are essentially the same size - and essentially the same as BCV/VWL/SSR studios.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet. Next time you stay at BWV, see for yourself. Ask for a dedicated studio (if nothing else, they are quieter.) An extra 55 sq ft would be extremely obvious.

You are correct, we had a lockoff studio attached to a one BR at BWV in May or our family vacation and a dedicated studio in October for our anniversary trip.

Same exact size. Only difference I could see whatsoever was the little bench couch next to the chest that held the TV and no connecting door of course.
