Which views do you get with a Standard View 2 BR Villa at Boardwalk?

I have seen loads of pictures now- Not all mind you
But many don't actually state which view is which- I can eliminate BW view by what is in the shot of course... LOL
As a Standard View which rooms or areas do YOU prefer?

Standard view is primarily of the entry driveway for BWV. See the color coded resort photo below.

For a standard view you can overlook the front of BW, which isn't bad. You can also overlook another part of the building, the wetlands area, the tennis courts. I got the tennis courts the last time I stayed in standard view, which was directly above all the air conditioners. After that, I decided to pay for a guaranteed view, which at least guarantees that I don't hear the air conditioners go on/off all night long.

LOL Thx Cruella- & Granny thanks for the diagram- That is exactly what I need for all resorts- Is there anywhere to access something similar to that for all resorts?
Yes, It looks as though I may be requesting BW View and then maybe Preferred - definitely don't think Standard will hit our list- I was just checking out points chart and what I could bank into next year if we don't use entire allotment this year...
Next resort option would be OKW and I can bank 50 pts- Then next year would be cross between BCV & BWV if we don't get BWV this year-

Thx again!

This past June 1-6, we had first floor which we really enjoyed, some don't. I believe they were rooms 1111 and 1109. We were directly across from the bus stop. We had ducks and squirrels and birds that liked to be fed on the patios which had a very nice canopy of shade provided by the trees. I've had a room directly above there as well on the fourth floor in 2007 and you can see some of the fireworks from Illuminations from those locations.

look for stairways - BWV has several of these. walking the steps is much, much faster than going to the elevator (if you can).

you can be much closer to the bus stop than most of the preferred.

I can't get the file to open Spiceycat- Do you have it as a word doc? Where did you find this file?
Thx!

Thx so much! That is a great visual! I am keeping this for future reference as well! :thumbsup2

We stayed in both in Oct. We had 5005! which may be the best view ever at WDW then switched to a 1 BR overlooking the parking lot. Not a bad view there really. I loved the view in 5005 but for the points I will try for standard if we stay there again. (It really wasn't our favorite DVC)

We have stayed at BWV a number of years now and always have had a standard view room. The view the last few times was not much (of the parking lot) but was close to the exit that took us right across to the bus stop.

A couple of pluses for a standard view room that are usually overlooked are that you are closest to HS (just scoot out the back door) - actually almost equal distance from EPCOT and HS if you are way down on the wing - and you are close to the transportation/bus stop.

Is there only one bus stop at BWV? and where is the elevator?

I think there are 3 elevators, and they are on the second floor where the lobby is. BCV has 3 elevators too, but I do like how they're not altogether. Plus, BWV is so much larger, I don't know why DVC skimped on the number there.

Actually, we're pretty lucky because we often get a second floor villa, and then we just walk through the lobby and down to the bus stop.

We really like the standard view.

if you find yourself far from the elevators and you can do steps - no adults or kids in wheelchair or strollers - BWV had steps.'

these chair cases are generally short cuts. so definitely (if you can) try the steps. be sure once you are down to try the door.

some of the doors will not let you back in - it is good to know this now - than that night trying to get in a door you can't - when you will go back to another door or the elevators.

My experience is that all the exterior doors have room-key access. I know the door leading to the bus stop does, as well as the door closest to the quiet pool and community hall, so you should be fine as long as you have your room key with you.

there is one door goes to the courtyard close to the BW - it did not open from the outside at all.

now this was years ago and it might have chanced. now about that door inparticular because walk down it to get some cash at the ATM (which is pretty close) and had to go back to the elevators to get in - which in those days you needed a key to even get there.
