I've seen a few posts from DVC members suggesting what views to request for rooms at BWV.

I'm helping a friend plan a trip for his family and they're staying at BW (*not* villas) in a standard view. Can anyone suggest what room/floor/view would be best. I think if they could see illuminations it would be great. Can someone suggest something?

Also, it is him, his wife, and 3 children. Does a standard room hold 5 comfortably? Has anyone else tried?

I stayed in a standard room on the fourth floor overlooking the quiet pool. I had a view of Illuminations from my room (not that I ever was in my room at night to watch them). I can't remember the room number off the top of my head. When I checked in, I just asked the desk clerk to give me a nice room :)

We have had amazing luck and had the opportunity to stay at BWI on several occasions. Here is what I have discovered...

1. When making the reservation, book a standard room which has a day bed. (This way, you will have 2 queen beds and a small day bed, perfect for a toddler or small child.) Not only are these rooms cheaper than BoardWalk view, they seem to either look at the gardens or the parking lot. Be sure to request a view of fireworks. (The BoardWalk view rooms will not have fireworks view. They look the other way.)

2. When checking in, request the view choice and bedding again. I am sure the Front Desk Cashier will take a minute to double check before assigning "just any room." (Remember, requests are not gauranteed, so expect to not get the view. Then if you do, it is just icing on the cake! Usually, we do get our requests met, but once we didn't.)

3. If you are checking in before the 3pm check-in time, let them know you are willing to wait for a room with a view. If this is not an option, ask the Front Desk Cashier to let you know what the options are. Maybe there is a room which will also fit your needs.

Good luck and I hope your friend enjoys the "Showplace of the Shore!"

The Boardwalk Inn will have 2 queen beds and a daybed. Other than having one bathroom for 5 you will have room for sleeping.

I would request an upper floor, Epcot view.
