Boardwalk Restaurant Dinner

I am trying to decide too for our arrival night as we only have 3 day non-hoppers and will be using them the following 3 days and not on arrival day. We are staying at BWV and plan to do F&W booths for 2 of the 3 days. Our ADR booking opens in 3 days. I have done polls on many forums and can't really make a decision. I am thinking of going to another resort too. But DH is driving in that day from NC and says he'd prefer to stay around the boardwalk area. But DDs and I will fly in at 1:30 and will be itching to go somewhere. To top it off, DH is El Cheapo so no signatures and we are not renewing our TIW card so we are looking at DVC discounted places only. One place we are looking at is Captain's Grille. But DH was not thrilled with the menu...frankly, DH is being difficult.

OP, you too could do another resort (could take bus from HS). I am thinking about Whispering Canyon as DD requested that. I also would love Sanaa but DDs aren't fond of it and we've been there every trip since 2013. Then I thought Boma but DDs shot that down too. Suggested Grand Floridian Cafe but DH says he'd feel too underdressed over in that hotel. Could do the Wave and then go up to TotWL to watch fireworks but that got shot down too. I threw out DS and House of Blues or Raglan Road and all 3 were for HoB but then fizzled on it soon after (DH doesn't want to deal with the Friday night crowds at DS). For BW area, I'd suggest to keep trying for B&C as that's one of our faves. ESPN and Big River are just bar food...we likely will end up at one of those because that's what DH keeps pushing (so he can get beer and under $15 sandwich meals, El Cheapo). Flying Fish is still shut down for reno. Yachtsman is one I really want to try, but El Cheapo. My DDs aren't into Italian so Trattoria is out. Sigh.

Whew, bless your heart. That wore me out just reading it. Can't imagine how hard it is to plan.

My family is not as lucky as yours. I plan like a dictator, in that I like it, I book it, they deal with it ;)
Thankfully, we've found that everywhere has at least 1 thing everyone will eat. And none of us have ever gone hungry

I really enjoyed Trattoria al Forno in September and would highly recommend it. All 7 in our party loved everything we ordered. Service (waiter was Dale) was amazing. A few of us went back a few days later because we had loved it so much. Second time was just as good - we requested Dale as our server again. We tried different entrees and loved those too. I have not been to ESPN or Big River Grille so I cannot comment on those.

I did go to Captain's Grille at YC. Food was good but the service was awful (rude!). I won't be going back there for awhile.

Yup, I just need to be Disney Nazi and not even ask them...I used to do that and have no clue why or when I changed. I am the one that does all the work with planning, so I should just do whatever and tell them to deal. :D
