Boardwalk Resorts and the Bus

I'm sure this topic has been discussed many times, but I wanted to get this off my chest. I am very disappointed at the bus service to and from the BCV. I do not understand how one bus is dispatched to service 7 different resorts.(BWI,BWV,Swan,Dolphin,YC,BC,BCV) On an afternoon this past July, my family spent 35 minutes sitting on the bus returning from AK. We had to stop at BB, Dolphin,Swan,YC prior to our stop. The poor people at the BWV and BWI still had to wait until the next stop. We stayed at the BWI 2 years ago and had to put up with long waits and extremely crowded busses. We felt like we were forgotten.
Would it not be practical to split up the route? I know that the schedules change from time to time depending on the season but I feel that WDW transportation should take a look at this.

P.S. I believe the best answer to this situation would be to expand the Monorail system!

Hi -
While it's 7 resorts, it's 5 stops. I don't have an answer for your
frustration, but I do have a tip or 2 on circumventing the long ride.
When my DW and I stay at the BCV, we'll usually get off at one of the
earlier stops and enjoy a leisurely walk back to the resort....depending on weather conditions of course. In the case of the BWV or BWI my advice for people who are able to walk without any problems would be to exit at the Swan, quick walk through the lobby, right out the door,
and before you know it your at Atlantic Dance Hall!! Not a solution but an option.

the five stops, I would just mind if every bus coming was crowded and we had to wait for multiple buses. I know when we stay at POR we have five stops just at that resort. So I don't mind picking people up, but I hate to wait at a stop only to find the bus coming to pick us up full. I am a little anxious about your post since we will be staying at BCV. But actually we are planning a split stay so I we will try and do the "bus" parks while at POR and save MGM and Epcot for while we are at the villas. That way we may never need the bus.

I agree though, a monorail extension to the Boardwalk area is a great idea. Of course, those boardwalk resorts would then be SUPER expensive.

There have been several recent reports on the DVC Forum that the bus routes have been changed/split up. Last I read, one bus was serving Swan/Dolphin and BW resorts and a separate bus was serving BC/YC/BCV.

Not sure if this will always be the case, but again, there have been reports from DVC members at BCV and BWV that bus service has improved lately.

Best wishes -

I think you're right CarolMN. The routes are different it seems, especially on the morning pick-ups. It seems the problem or should I say "issue" is on the return trip from AK or MK via bus, when they do stop at all 5 resorts not to mention BB.
