I am wondering from current DVC members if in their opinion there would still be avail. for OCT 04 if the reservations where made in March. (7 months before). I am planning on buying points but the person can't make the reservation until march because that isn't their home resort.

Thanks for your input.

The annual food and wine festival runs all through all of October and the BWV is a really popular place to stay for it. Chances are that something will be available in October but whether it is what you want for the week you want is questionable. I would look for a BWV owner to make sure if I were you. That way you may still be able to get a standard or Boardwalk view too.

My best guess would be that if you're looking for a standard view studio or 1BR, you will be on a waitlist with a fair chance of getting what you want. If you're looking for a 2B, or preferred view (not BW view), you may find what you're looking for.

We've tried to book at 11 mos. out for our trips, but sometimes have had to make changes along the way. We've ended up on the waitlist a few times and it seems to come through about half of the time for us.

Worst case scenario...you book a room at WL, OKW or BCV!! ;) In other words, you can't lose.

Be sure to book the minute your seven month window opens. If Boardwalk does not work, try Beach Club Villas just across the bridge! :yo-yo:

We stayed at BWV third week of October this past year. We booked at OKW (one of our home resorts) at 11 months and then tried to change our reservation to BWV exactly 7 months out. Had no problem getting it. Had to take preferred view (no standards left) but we wanted preferred anyway. I would book something else @ 11 months just to be sure that you have some place to stay. Almost every resort at WDW was full when we arrived. Found that out when we tried to book just one day for friends who were coming to see us. Finally got them into AK -- only place available and it cost us 35 points for one night, savanah view.

Book the reservation using rented points and then rent out your points when you get closer. You can save some money this way and maybe even make some money. You have to put some money up front to rent the points and get it before the window, but it will be worth it. Renting points is easy and you can sometimes get good prices for points with lots of time left.
