Hi everyone
DD and I are heading to CA as part of my 50th birthday month-long celebration
and I had booked a three-night stay at the Blue Sea Lodge on Mission Beach Boardwalk for our time in San Diego. Although it is a Best Western it gets very high marks on TA and a friend of mine stays there often.
Yesterday, Travelzoo posted a deal for the Loews Coronado for the same price once all things are equal (parking, internet, etc.) I am also eligible for an upgrade if available and there are a few other small freebies. The pictures look beautiful, much more upscale than the Blue Sea but obviously not on the boardwalk and apparently it is a 10 minute drive to everywhere.
If it were you, would you stay at the Blue Sea to be walking distance to all the restaurants and shops and right on the beach or at the Loews for the beautiful pools and restaurants, etc. Loews is on the marina with some type of walkway to the beach a few minutes away. I will have a car so that is not a problem.
