Boardwalk or Ak lodge

Trying to decide which resort to stay at.Want to extend honeymoon after Disney Cruise.We are staying one night .We just can't decide which resort to choose.Any help would be great.

My vote always goes to the Boardwalk. The location is the best in the World.

I haven't stayed at either, but, if the cost is the same, go for the Boardwalk. I think that the location is excellent for adults (Boardwalk and Yacht and Beach Club). You can walk (or take a short boat ride) to and from the back of Epcot (World Showcase). Epcot is usually the last park to close, and you can walk around the World Showcase, eating and drinking your way around the "World" (wine and beer are sold by the glass in the various countries, such as France, Italy, and Germany), watch Illuminations, and be back in your room in minutes.

You also have access to a huge number of restaurants (formal and informal) with Epcot, the Boardwalk, and Yacht and Beach Club within walking distance.

We honeymooned at WDW (WL) and went again for our 4th anniversary. On that second trip, we seemed to end up at Epcot's World Showcase every night, even if we spent the day in another park. It was a great way to end the day!

I have stayed at AKL once and BWV many, many times. My vote would be for Boardwalk. As others have said there is so much to do there, there are many wonderful restuarants, you are close to 2 parks, lots of nighttime entertainment, etc. It's without a doubt one of the very best locations on WDW property, personally I think it is THE best location on property. AKL is a very pretty, unique resort but it is far from everything, only has bus transportation to everywhere and IMHO just can't compete with the Boardwalk.

I think your decision should be based on what kind of resort you want. Both are nice. BW is in the middle of things and close to restaurants and Epcott. Lots of things to do and places within walking distance. AKL is more isolated and more exotic. It could be really romantic sitting on the balcony watching the animals and it does have 2 very good restaurants.

I haven't stayed in either, but I'll be at AKL in less than a month.

For only one night, I'd stay at the Boardwalk if you plan on touring the parks at all because of it's location, although it is more expensive than AKL. If you're only going to stay at the hotel, I'd go with AKL because it is so unique. Have a great honeymoon

We stayed at both this September (concierge level). To our surprise we liked AKL better than the BWI. BWI was great for location and a very nice hotel but AKL is really a great hotel for ambiance and service. The concierge staff was much friendlier and attentive at AKL also. We have stayed at GF (3x), Poly, CSR and POR also and I would rank AKL only behind the GF at this point. The pool is also superior in my opinion to BWI. Try the AKL and you won't be dissapointed. I would also suggest a dinner at Jiko. Jiko and Boma are both very good.

For romance and just resort time- AKL.

For a place close to many things to do- Boardwalk.

I guess different people have different versions of what is romantic but I do not see what is so romantic about watching cattle or giraffes. Give me a nice liesurely stroll walking hand in hand around a lake reflecting the moonlight and the twinkling boardwalk lights with the sounds of music drifting across the water or the same scene only on a private balcony while sharing a glass of wine, anyday over watching cattle. Viva le difference!! Enjoy!!
