Boardwalk "MEHmpire"?

Anybody else think this show was, and is, highly overrated?


Scale of 1 - 10, I give it a 6.....

We're enjoying it a lot here. Maybe not quite a 10 yet, but it's at least an 8 in our house.

My husband LOVES the show. In fact, he JUST texted me to "make SURE" I remembered to leave the DVR on so it records it for him tonight.

I watched two episodes with him, and I too enjoyed it.

I was really looking forward to it, but it's been slow moving so far. I am sure once the major plot lines are established and the characters are set up the ball will get rolling. But it has been a slower pace than I am used to (compared to TrueBlood, Dexter, etc.)

My husband is a TV snob and he likes it. I like it too. I think it's rich in detail.

I live close to Atlantic City and my dh's great great uncle built the first Atlantic City Boardwalk. So i've been looking forward to it and love it. It's a huge hit with my college sons, but I was a bit when we were watching it together and the one pretty explicit scene came on. They're old enough, clearly to watch it, just not with me in the room.
My grandmother used to tell me about going to AC as a young girl and putting in some change to see the incubator babies. She remembers being fascinated by how tiny they were.
I'm a history teacher and while I know some facts have been changed I appreciate the attention to detail.

I like it and am really loving the cinematography of the show. Just beautiful!

I loved the first episode, and then my love kind of tapered off until last night's episode, and I'm in love again. I'm obsessed with the clothing and furniture.
