Any suggestions on a good standard room at the Boardwalk Inn or should I re-book a water view for extra money. I paid $211 per night for 3 people with the Fall Fantasy package. Is that a good rate?

Thanks for any help!

Hi Kim - welcome! I'm not sure about the rate, you can probably find some threads where people have posted what they are paying for BWI - we stayed there 11/00, but with the cruise package, so I'm not even sure what the room rate was. I just wanted to say that we loved the BWI and will definitely stay there again (after we try out all the others!). If $ is not an issue, the water view is lovely (we were lucky enough to be booked standard, but given water view- slow time & I lucked out and had my request filled). But if the $ is needed more for meals, etc, then I don't think I would pay extra for it. It is a beautiful resort and I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Tou don't say when you are going? this can make a lot of difference in the rate.

We had a standard view room, at the very end, over the ESPN and got to see the Illuminations fireworks.

I think that's a good rate. I'm not sure when in the fall you are going, but the standard rate in value season(most fall dates)is $289 per night. I would keep my eyes open for discounts on www.mousesavers.com. We were there in Nov 2002 and got an AP rate at the GF for $199 a night!! There were also alot of code discounts available at that time. We are booked at the BWI this May and we are paying $232 a night with an AP rate. I can't help with advice on the view, it will be our first time there. I do remember reading somewhere that some standard rooms have an Epcot view. Hopefully some of the experts here can help on that.
Anyone know if you can get a standard view with a view of Epcot and a room that is non-smoking and next to an elevator? Is this asking for too much:rolleyes: ;)

Welcome Kim,
You will love the Boardwalk Inn. We were there for 2 weeks this past October. We also booked a standard room as we could not quite afford the waterview. I requested a courtyard view and an upper floor. We arrived at 12noon and not only was our room ready, but they gave us a room overlooking the quiet pool and courtyard. It was so lovely and at night we could see the fireworks from our balcony. We were so close to Epcot, we could hear the Beatles revue playing from England. They really pamper you there and you can't beat the location. You can walk to Epcot and MGM or take the ferry boat just outside the Boardwalk. The bus service was excellent. Our two girls loved the pool. It has a large slide called the Keister Coaster. It looks like an old fashioned wooden roller coaster. If you have any questions about the resort or great places around the boardwalk to eat....just ask. The Boardwalk is my favorite resort and fall is my favorite time to go...perfect weather and minimal crowds.

I am interested in this post as we are planning to do standard room at BWI our next trip too.

We stayed in a BW view room this past Feb. We payed about $230 per night with the Sunshine Getaway pkg. (room and passes only... no meals).

Our next trip will be in peak season (last week of Feb) and I just can't see spending nearly $400 a night for a BW view!! I didn't realize a standard view was anything other than a parking lot view... I thought the pool and garden views were considered "preferred" or something like that.

Hi KimLav,

Does the $211 per night include tax, passes and meals?

In the past the Fall Fantasy could be purchased to just be room and breakfast or room, breakfast and passes.

I know this has changed a little so what exactaly does the $211 include?

Everyone thanks for your great suggestions about the Boardwalk Inn. To answer a few questions, I am going September 25th - October 2nd. (Wednesday-Wednesday) The rate is just for the room portion of the package with AAA travel. My total for room, flight, towncar transfer, and Ultimate park hopper tickets was $3290.00 for 3 adults. I use AAA Fall Days package, not specifically the Disney Fall Fantasy package. Now, I can't wait to stay at the Boardwalk Inn. But, I will have fun planning our activities. Thanks again for the advice.

We are going down on Sunday and we are staying at the BWI. We used a rate code (CIF) and got a waterview room for $328 a night, including tax.

Unless you get a good rate code, I don't really think its worth the extra money to pay for the view.... the DISNEY resorts are all so nice that I doubt it would spoil my trip if I had a standard room. And I would rather use the extra money for something else on the trip :D
