Hi, Pleae help me decide on either the BWI or another resort. I love the look of the boardwalk inn, the feel of the place and the whole theme and activity on the boardwalk. \if i was going thee just myself and dh then I would defo go for it.
But WE are going as a family with ds13 and dd 6 and most of all despite what is my fave I want to choose the best resort for them.
We will be there for a week and aprobably have several trips to the MK so I don't know if a monarail; will be better.
Other resorts i haveconsidered are AKL , POFQ, POLY or WL or BC, YC.

In your opinions and experience which resort will be most magical for my children?
This is our first trip to wdw. :earsgirl:

We love the BWI it's one of our favorites. You didn't say when you are planning on going that could make a difference as far as the pools. Also how much will budget play into your choices? You've got quite a few resorts you are considering with a big difference in price.

We love the BWI - it is our new favorite. We stayed there for three nights in February and we would like to stay there again in January. I love the theming at the BWI. I like being on the Boardwalk and we were very happy with our room. We had a standard view with a nice balcony overlooking a lovely courtyard.

I can highly recommend the BWI.

I love, love, love BWI. I also love GF and we have a almost-4yo so we are staying there next trip for the MK convenience. But I can't wait for future trips when he's older and more into Epcot and MGM so we can stay at BWI again! Besides, I think the pool slide at BWI is the very best at WDW!

All this talk about the BWI made me call a few minutes ago to make our reservations for January - Woo Hoo!!

We've stayed at YC, WL, AKL, and BWI and if I were going to MK alot I'd definitely stay at WL. We just switched to BWI for our Sept trip because we will be spending more time at Epcot and MGM. I think it makes alot of sense to stay close to the park you plan on going to most. We really loved the boatride to MK from the WL. Have fun deciding.

I've stayed at the BW villas and absolutely loved the location and nightly entertainment. The bakery is wonderful and sweet shops are convenient and the entire lake area is just fun to hang out around. Our room overlooked Epcot and most nights we got to see and hear Illuminations from our balcony. If you can afford it, try to stay there. Your kids are old enough to make the treks to the bus stop or to walk to Epcot. Your kids will also love the main pool area, slide and pool parties they through in the afternoon but they are refurbishing the main pool I believe now through November or December. If your planning on going during the time the pool is being refurbished, then stay someplace else. I found my week spent here absolutely wonderful.

Another vote for the Boardwalk - it is a great resort.

Have you ever thought of splitting your stay? Staying at a MK resort first and then going to the Boardwalk? It depends on how you are, if you "move in" to the resort when you go or not. We live out of our suitcases so it's not a problem for us - we love to split our stay.

Where else to stay, it depends. The only problem with the WL is that it isn't right on the monorail. My son loves the Contemporary (he would live there if they let them, or if I could afford it). He's 18 now, our first stay he had just turned 15. The pluses are the monorail going right through the middle of it. If you can afford the tower, you are even closer to the monorail (but further from the pool which is on the ground floor). If it's too pricey for you, you might be able to afford a wing room, which is closer to the pool (and a little further from the monorail). It also has the largest rooms on property (for a standard). Those who don't like it often say it's because of the style. It has been called one of the least themed resorts at Disney.

The Poly is a great resort as well. It has a great pool, and a very polynesian feel.

The Grand Floridian is very, very stylish. It has the only restaurant on property where a dress jacket is required to be seated.

Just my thoughts.

Never stayed at BWI, but I've always wanted to. The atmosphere is so much fun and very inviting. I say give it a try, and let us know how it is.

My DS (15) and I stayed at the Boardwalk Inn in June and loved it. We had a great standard room (4278) that overlooked a quiet courtyard. We could even see the Epcot fireworks right from our beds. It is a wonderful resort in a really great area. So nice being able to walk or boat to Epcot and the Disney Studios.
As another poster suggested, why not split your stay between two resorts. Disney will transfer the luggage for you. This way you can experience different resorts during one stay.

Love the BWI, have stayed there twice with my kids. Kids love it too. Also have stayed at Poly, when our kids were younger. Great for monorail but for us we really like the Epcot area resorts better. More fun at night. Maybe a split stay if you are there a week.
