Hi...I've been reading these posts for a long time and I wanted to add info. that mayble could help you guys as much as I've been helped here. We just got back...I haven't even unpacked but I was afraid I'd start to forget...We checked into the Boardwalk in for the first two days of a four day get away. We were supposed to switch to the Polynesian, which we love, but we all liked the Boardwalk Inn so much, we couldn't leave!!

We stayed on the fourth floor concierge...the staff and food was great, perfect, I thought. It was raining for most of our days in Disney, but it didn't seem to matter. Our room was beautiful and without asking, we were put in a great room, we felt, right over Spoodles. It was peaceful and we looked at the goings on at the boardwalk, people strolling, entertainment. was definitely not too noisy.

Myself, my DH and my DD (age 9) loved the location close to Epcot. Our concierge was so nice...always ready to help out...we changed ressies for lunch several times and they never hesitated to do whatever we asked. My daughter's tooth came out and Tinkerbell stopped by when we went out to dinner to leave her a soft tinkerbell doll and quick but beautiful sparkly note under my daughter's pillow.

The food...the first night were delicious chicken quesidillas (sp?), second night were lobster popovers and tartletts, the third night were black been egg rolls and some sort of meat appetizer. They had a great machine to make any kind of latte, mocha, hot chocolate, etc. (my daughter loved this.)
I would definitely not hestitate to stay again in a second....well worth the money...very romantic too!!!!

We always stay Wilderness Lodge concierge but have been wanting to try Boardwalk. It sounds like you had a great time. The one thing I like about WL is that all the concierge rooms are on the 7th floor along with the "lounge". Where are the concierge rooms at Boardwalk? Are they all on the same floor? Or are some rooms on a different floor than the lounge?

Thanks for your review. BWI is a CL that I want to try out.

Tink is my favorite. I love what they did for your daughter.

I am sooo glad to hear that you enjoyed BWI concierge. We are going in August and really looking forward to it.

BWI is my favorite! I'm glad you had a great trip.:)

Awesome to hear your report!
A week from today we leave and are spending 4 nights at Poly and then 4 nights at BWI Concierge. We spent two nights at BWI CL last July and it REALLY spoiled us! I cannot wait to go back and stay for 4 nights! I think it was smart to change your plans and spend the whole time there!
What awesome news re. the food and the coffee machine! That was not there in July when we were there :jumping1:
Take care~

Glad to hear you enjoed your stay. The BWI is my favorite place to stay and then you have CMs like Robin, Jackie, Scott, Ilia and Laura that just make your entire stay magical.

Thanks for the info! We're trying out BWI for the first time in a few weeks!

:sunny:

Now that I've unpacked :flower: I can add a couple of pieces of info. to respond to the question above. We were on the fourth floor, I did see that the suite is located on the same floor. I think it's possible that the fifth floor may contain some concierge rooms but I am not certain.

They also had really great cookies during one snack time, even my DH, who is not much of a cookie eater, commented on how delicious they were after taking 1/2 of a cookie from my DD. They were sugar cookies with m & m's in them. Let's see....they had an assortment of different beers available during the 5-7 p.m. "feeding", both of the lite and regular varieties.

I forgot to add that the concierge member who was coordinating Tinkerbell's visit actually asked which bed my daughter was sleeping in so she could pass the info. along to Tink. I noticed that the store downstairs on the Boardwalk that has a large variety of Disney items, had really the best hat selection that I had seen throughout my stay.

Another tip...if you get a chance, eat at the French restaurant in EPCOT for lunch. It was so cool...we went around 12:00 noon and it wasn't busy until we were just leaving the restaurant.

I stayed at BWI the year it opened, it is a nice resort. They do have a really great gift shop, too.

BWI is my family's favorite resort so far! We find ourselves always wanting to go back there. Glad to hear another DIS'er had a great time there.

llij ~ wish I were going with you in a few weeks!

second night were lobster popovers

Oh man, those are soooo good! We loved the staff there, too! We chatted a lot with Margaret and Maria (I don't know if they're still there.) The staff was a delight and they worked several "miracle" reservations for us last minute.

Glad you enjoyed your trip!

Thanks so much for posting! We will be headed to the BWI in May for a split stay with the Poly. Two questions..how did you get to Epcot and MGM - walk or boat? Did you do AK while there, and if so, how was the bus transportation to it?

Ok, to get to EPCOT, we either took the ferry that docks right at BWI or we walked. THe walking was so easy, it just seemed we walked over a little bridge (the one that the boat goes under) and we were there. Maybe 5 minutes...total. We actually drove to MGM, because it was raining, so I don't know how long the boat takes, but I remember the captain saying that MGM was in the sequence of stops. No visit to AKL but my DH and DD went to Blizzard Beach one day with the bus, and they seemed to have no problem...again, very convenient. Any other questions, just ask... :scratchin

Hi - we have stayed at the Boardwalk many times and it is great! We will be there over Labor Day weekend in Sept for a family reunion. One couple is going one day early and staying at the Pop Century. Do you happen to know approximately how far the Pop Century is from the Boardwalk? Thanks so much.

Another question here. Do you check in downstairs or at a separate check in area? Did you eat at any of the BW restaurants and do you have any suggesions?

Do they have hot tubs at BWI? And how many? Someone said they had one at the main pool, but do they have any more at the quiet pools.

thanks

Going to be there 4/26 :goodvibes
