Ok.. so I'm trying to schedule some time to check the boardwalk out. I can't find much info about it, though. Can someone give me a good description? I've heard there are street performers, but don't know much else. Is it better during the day - or night, or is there no difference?? And any opinions on the food there ? I tried to make a ressie for ESPN and they don't take them. How much time should we allow, approximately? A quick walk through or a few hrs?! Sorry for all the questions, but like I said, I haven't heard much. Thanks everyone!

It can be hot during the day depending on the time of year that you go. :sunny: We stayed at the BWV Memorial day week and we loved spending time on the Boardwalk.

If you are at Epcot you can easily walk out of the World Showcase entrance and explore the Boardwalk for a while.

They have surrey bikes you can rent and those are a lot of fun. There are several clubs and restaurants to eat at it and go dancing. They have games and jugglers and guys on stilts....
They have these guys that walk around in old fashion baseball uniforms and play "take me out to the ball game" with their horns.... :thumbsup2 It was great!!

I love the lake and you can just sit for a while and take it all in. We ate outside at the Big River Grill one evening and that was really nice and relaxing. There is also and Ice cream and candy shop near by too. :goodvibes

If you are not staying at any of those resorts then accessing it from Epcot would be the easiest unless you have a car?? :confused3

We love it!

We stayed at the YC, and it looked to me like it was "livelier" at night. Are you heading over with kids? All I really saw was a couple "game" booths set up, which my kids did in a couple minutes, not a lot to keep them interested. My hubby and I (on our solo night) went to Jellyrolls, which is a dueling piano bar, and had a great time. We had dinner at the Brewery, which was good. That's all the experience I've had.

If you stay at Boardwalk You've got to make the time to go to Jelly Rolls. We spent over 4 hours in there one night.

Ah, the Boardwalk...one of my favorite places at WDW. (We liked it so much, we bought the company...er, into the Villas. :) )

Food: Lots to choose from resturant wise. I've eaten at Spoodles, the Big River Grille, and ESPN Club. Haven't eaten at the Flying Fish...yet. Of the three I've tried, Spoodles is my favorite. ESPN Club's food is mediocre at best, but the atmosphere is pretty cool. Spoodles food is top notch, and the atmosphere is a lot of fun. The Big River Grille has excellent beer, and the food is pretty good.

Entertainment: The street performers are out around dusk, and are pretty good. There's usually a magician of some kind, and he will draw the biggest crowds. There are musicians that walk around the area, too.

Shopping: It's pretty much like any other WDW shopping place, but with some Boardwalk stuff available.

If you're not staying there, then walking around a bit and having dinner would probably take a couple hours. Like Babyjosie said, just walk out the International Gateway gate at Epcot and you'll be there in no time.

Sounds fun enough to try it out! Till about what time does the entertainment go till?If it's a little more fun after dusk, if we spent the afternoon at DTD, went to our dinner ressie at Chef Mickey's at 6:10 - kinda out of the way - then headed over to the Boardwalk, would that be ok

Not sure of the exact time the entertainers leave, but I remember coming back from Illuminations and watching them, so they're still going well after 9PM.

Oooo... thanks. I was wondering this too since we're trying to stay at the BCV next June.
