Is there a grocery type place at Boardwalk? We did garden grocer last trip when dd was 11 months. Next trip she will be 18 months, so don't really see that we will need $40 worth of stuff.

Also, is there a breakfast place around boardwalk?

Thanks!!

The Screen Door General Store has lots of essential items llke milk, bread, eggs and other items like cookies, drinks, crackers, english muffins, ect. They are not as cheap as a grocery store but if you have the dining plan a lot of these items can be bought using a snack credit. :)

We stayed at Boardwalk on our only trip to the World in 2006. We walked over to Beach Club and found the store there was much larger & had a much better selection. I recommend you shop over there for the better selection. It had prepared foods also, like deli stuff.

On the boardwalk for breakfast you have the Boardwalk Bakery for coffee, juice, danish, fruit and egg sandwiches to give you an idea of what they have. The Belle Vue Lounge is off the lobby on the Inn side and has similar offerings but no egg sandwiches (nothing hot) and can be closed for AM hours during some seasons I think. There also may be a cart open that has some coffee and minimal offerings for food?

Also, if you are able to sit down for a breakfast, Spoodles has an AWSOME breakfast, everytime we have eaten breakfast at Spoodles, we have left very HAPPY:banana:

For out trip last month, I brought down some of those cereal snacksize boxes, coffee already in filters, that sort of stuff that wouldn't get crushed. Then I ordered dairy stuff (milk, half and half, oj), bread, some fruit, pretzels, bagels, water from Garden Grocer. We had the dining plan so I found that I actually had too much grocery stuff ordered!! While at the Screen Door, I noticed that I could have gotten just about everything I had ordered from GG or had brought myself. Yes, it was a bit more expensive, but I wouldn't have had the delivery charge as well as the tip to pay. And I could have gotten stuff as I needed it and would not have wasted quite as much.
I find that the one thing I don't like about BW is the lack of quick service food. But, if we are up early enough or we just aren't in a big ole hurry, we walk over to the Dolphin and eat at Picabu's...love it there. It's open 24/7, has some good choices. Then we can take their bus to the parks. But there are those who don't like to walk that far for breakfast!!

We recently returned from the Beach Club...I took a TON of pics of the Marketplace there, which does function as a mini grocery store because of the villas...I did a review of it which I posted on that thread...here's the link to the post

Beach Club Marketplace is the gift shop, but also has some food options...it also functions as a mini grocery store for the Beach Club Villas...I did a very detailed review of the BCM here:

this post has more info on the CS food items available...

Hope this helps!

Jeanie, I saw your pics on your review and that's what got me thinkin'! LOL!
We did garden grocer our last two trips and had so much leftover food!! The only reason I thought of ordering there again was to get a case of water!

How far a walk is it from BWV to Dolphin and Beach club?

We were at BWV this June and we used the screen door store several times. Everything in the pictures at The BCV store I also saw at the screen door. No cases of water though and the beer is very high. I might would do a delivery from wegoshop just for the water and a few other things.

I didn't walk the distance...it's either a walk around the lake or you hop on the boat and cut across the lake...timing is the issue here because the boat just goes straight across the lake...if you have to wait for the boat...may be better to just walk...but if your timing is good...I'd just hop on...not sure about distance to the villas...the boat would continue from YC/BC to Dolphin/Swan...I can't imagine the distance is great...but with all the walking we do in WDW we save our DS6 legs as much as possible! LOL!
