Apologies in advance if I've posted this in the wrong place!

My fiancée and I are visiting WDW for the first time for our honeymoon in August (we got engaged at DLParis) and are just trying to get our heads around planning our visit.

I've heard some really good things about the Boardwalk. We're doing a day at each of the water parks which close at 5pm, and have the evenings of both of those days 'free'. Is there enough to do to fill a few hours in the evening at Boardwalk? We'd probably have dinner there but any other suggestions?

Also, we're staying at the Caribbean Beach, would a taxi be the easiest way to get between the two?

Thanks guys

To me unless you're doing dinner there or staying at a resort attached to it it's not that great. I'd much rather spend time at Disney Springs.

We have stayed at the Boardwalk Inn many times. The boardwalk area is a nicely themed but there really isn't that much there. A couple of places to eat, The Flying Fish, Big River Grill, and ESPN, (there was) an ice cream shop, a bakery, and a general store with the usual mix of Disney apparel and trinkets. For entertainment there is Jellyrolls and depending on the evening the Atlantic Dance Hall. Also in the evenings there are usually a couple of street performers along the boardwalk.

If you decide to go a taxi would be the best way to get there. Parking is very limited and valet parking is now $25.

Also, be aware that they are currently renovating parts of the Boardwalk. They just closed the ice cream store and the Flying Fish will be closed for the next 6-7 (according to easyWDW) months for a major renovation.

All of that said, I am not sure I would go out of my way to plan a visit to the boardwalk just to see it. Especially not during the renovation.

I would plan a nice dinner one evening, maybe Narcoossee's or someplace similar, and plan to spend the other evening at Disney Springs. Depending how much is opened by then, and how much you enjoy wandering through shops, I'm sure you could fill a couple evening visiting the different areas at Disney Springs.

Even when we're not staying at of near the Boardwalk, we have enjoyed dinner, watching the entertainers (magicians and others) and watching EPCOT fireworks from the bridge.

We stayed at yacht club in 2014. I wanted a date night away from the kids and our agent booked us california grill an hour before magic kingdom wishes fireworks. the meal was incredible. We ordered dessert just before the fireworks and it arrived at our table minutes after fireworks ended. California grill has a private viewing deck where they pipe in the wishes show music. It was so romantic. There were maybe 6 or 7 other couples on the deck with us so it felt very private and intimate. It was a such a great way to watch the wishes show. That would definately be a special night for honeymooners.

We went there for the first time last year because I wanted to see what the hype was about the Disney Boardwalk, lol. We had an ADR to the ESPN Club and that was really really cool my kids and Hubby LOVED all the TVs and Sports stuff and the food was pretty decent. I was a little disappointed in the rest of the boardwalk though and my kids wanted to leave after dinner because there was really nothing to do and parking there was not the greatest either.

We had two hours to kill on our last trip (waiting on an ADR and it didn't make sense to go all the way to the front of the park, leave, go back to Bay Lake, and then turn around and make our ADR), so we meandered around the Boardwalk for that amount of time. No, there's not a lot to do there, but it is a nice area. Very relaxing - very few people and we wandered in and out of a few shops and stopped in the Beach Club to look around. I wouldn't want to do it on every trip, but it was fun in the moment.

We love wandering on the Boardwalk & seeing the various performers, it's a nice way to spend a couple of hours. You could also ride the water taxis between Epcot & Hollywood Studios, or maybe walk through one or more of the area resorts - the theming is amazing!

Eating there and just checking out the resorts in the area and the Boardwalk itself can take a good 3-4 hours,Disney Springs obviously has a whole lot more but the Boardwalk is a nice place to check out.

Id plan dinner at the Flying Fish Cafe and then visit either the Atlantic Dance Hall or Jelly Rolls on the Bowardwalk
