What are your picks for best restaurant on the boardwalk? We will be there in July for 6 days staying at the Villas and wanted to eat at some of the restaurants:

ESPN-my 8yr. old son wants to eat here
Spoodles
Brewery Grill-not sure of name

any others? Thanks

We had breakfast at Spoodles and it was terrific!

Big River Grille - that is the brewery you are thinking of. It gets very mixed reviews, but IMHO the two best features are the brews (quite good) and the location. If you can get a patio table and watch the passers-by on the boardwalk as you eat, it's a great experience.

We haven't tried ESPN, but another great lunch and icecream place is Beaches & Cream, which is nearby at the Beach Club. That would be a 3 to 5 minute walk for you. They have awesome burgers and shakes, and sundaes to die for. The seating area is quite small, so go at an off time for a late lunch or early dinner. We went at 3:30 on a weekday last October and were the only people in the place for 10 minutes (aside from the CMs).

Have a great time!

our favorite restaurants in that area are spoodles and beaches and cream. :)

I dined here on my last trip and it was FANTASTIC!!! The food was excellent and so was the atmosphere. This is a definite must-dine for me!!

Spoodle's is probably our favorite place at Disney right now. We eat there twice on every trip! The roasted garlic and four cheese flatbread is like the best thing I've ever put in my mouth, but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu!

Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club is also good. We went about 2pm on Monday (yes, this past Monday...) and walked right in. It was a bit crowded, but it almost always is. :)

We're going to the Boardwalk next trip for the first time and plan to eat at Spoodles. I love the idea of doing tapas, especially in August. :smooth: What else did you like on their menu?

I've eaten at ESPN several times. I love the atmosphere, but I wouldn't go there for the food. It's adequate, but it's nothing fancy. Nothing bad, mind you, but the food doesn't jump out at me as "must have."

Flying Fish is my favorite restaurant at the boardwalk. They have some wonderful dishes. I especially love the seared NY strip steak, it is the best steak I have ever had; grilled to perfection, very tender and topped with a wonderful Bernaise type sauce.

ESPN is great, especially if you have sports fans in your family.

The food is typical of a sports bar...there are alot of choices for everyone. The atmosphere is great, the service good and the portions are very large.

We usually go to catch a game, order favorite beverages and get a bunch of appetizers/finger foods and share. We have been several times and have never been dissapointed.
