We jsut made our reservations for the Boardwalk for the first time. :cool1:

I've always wanted to stay there and we decided that we would this April/May visit.

Booked with AAA rates, and hoping AP will come out soon.

Very excited about this stay.

Do any of your BW Vets have any suggestions for our first visit?

We love BWI! It is our favorite so far. The resort itself is small, beautiful, and relaxing. The Luna Park pool is fun with the freeform shape and the keister-coaster slide ~ built to look like an old fashioned wooden roller coaster. Try a pina colada and a sandwich at the Leaping Horse libations poolside bar ~ looks like a carousel. Eat a continental breakfast in the relaxing Belle Vue lounge ~ this looks like an old world english library. Continental type foods and beverages are sold here individually from 6am - 10am and you can sit in there and eat them.

If you have a standard view, ask at check in for an upper floor with a view of Epcot if possible. There are a few rooms that fit this description. Also, ask for a full balcony because one trip we found out the hard way that not all the balconies are full. Most are though.

Don't forget to ask at the check in desk for a schedule of nightly performers they have out on the Boardwalk - there is at least one a day, more perform on weekend nights. Not big performances, but street type performances ~ very interesting. Rent a surrey bike and ride it around lake Crescent. Or walk it. It is great to be able to walk right into World Showcase area of Epcot or for a little longer walk, right to MGM. Of course, the Friendship boats run continuously to take you to both parks if you don't want to walk and you can even take one to the other side of the lake to see YC/BC or eat over there.

The whole area resembles an old time Jersey shore Boardwalk look. We love it there. Feels like "home" when we arrive.

Hope you have a great time!

Thanks ADisneygirl - that's just the type of info I was looking for.

hmm The Lounge, is it located off of the lobby where the check in desk is. I saw a picture of the lounge, looks very nice. Do they have refillable mugs here?

We've walked in the area to view Christmas Decorations, but did not really know where we were.

Sitting here looking at a foot of snow in our backyard, makes me want to be there now. But the planning is so much fun.

Just came back from BWI at Christmas. Loved it there! Here's my hint of the day. There is a Hess gas station just outside entrance to BWI and they sold 12pk of soda for short money. There is a fridge in the room so we just bought soda and stocked it for around $4.00-$5.00 per 12pk, something to think about.

If you are travelling without kids (or can get out without the kids for an evening), I highly recommend Jellyrolls Dueling Piano Bar. It's loads of fun. The piano players are fantastic! Doors open at 7:00, pianos start at 8:00. There is a $7 cover charge, and it's worth every penny.
