Hi - We are leaving on the Magic out of Miami next week. What time is the first boarding group generally allowed to board? Thanks!

We sailed on the Magic over Thanksgiving and had the earliest PAT. The first boarding group was called at around 11:45 and ours (#5) was called about 10-15 minutes later. I'm not sure whether our experience was typical since we've only sailed out of POM once.

When we sailed in October, they started boarding relatively late (it seemed). The first group was called at 11:45 and unfortunately, it was bedlam. Nobody could get where they needed to be or hear anything that was going on. People with much later boarding numbers were right next to the front blocking the way. We had group 3 and we were trying to squeeze our way through people in groups 10, 11, 12 that were right up near the front. I was not impressed with boarding in Miami. Port Canaveral was much bigger, more open and more clear about where to be and what was going on.

In early December - Family of the day was announced after 11:30. Starting at 11:45, they called group one, then group two. We were group three, so we started edging towards the front. Shortly before noon came a call for groups three through six.
What?! I did my online checkin at midnight so I would have an early group, but now they're calling four groups at once! Oh well, we all got on and had a splendid cruise.

We're sailing in March and the earliest PAT offered was 11:00-11:30. That's PAT and not boarding time though.

Mid-December cruise - Boarding began at about 11:30 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. We were Group 28 with a set time of between 1 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. Our group got called at 12:30 p.m. (They were rather strict about which group would be allowed in) Our staterooms were available at 1:30 p.m.

We had a 1030am PAT at Miami on 12/18. Our shuttle dropped us off around 10:15 and we waited about 39 min outside before they let us into the terminal. Once inside it filled up very quickly. We were boarding group 1 and got on about 12:15. Many people in later groups crowding the front of the boarding line. It was chaos. I would arrive to the port after 12noon if possible to avoid the chaos.
