so finally have enough BWV points to actually use the 11 month window. going to do a split stay next early june but first 3 nights will be at BWV for SWW. my question is its 50 points for 3 nights in a standard studio and 58 points for the boardwalk view is it worth it? i have only stayed in a pool view so both would be new for me. please give me your thoughts!

That's a very subjective question!

I enjoy the Boardwalk view, but prefer the standard view. The rooms are exactly the same and the only difference is the view. It's nice to see the higher-level Illuminations fireworks and the Boardwalk activity from your balcony. Note that some balconies are the "solid" type, which means you pretty much have to stand up to see anything. Some rooms in the SV category also have a view of the higher-level Illuminations fireworks from the balcony.

If you plan to spend the evenings in your room, my advice is to give the BW view a try - 8 points isn't that much to pay to see if you like it. Save the SV try for a longer stay.

That said, for SWW, I'd personally go for SV and request a higher floor near the bus stop. That request gives you the best chance to see Illuminations from the balcony and is very convenient to the walkway to DHS - assuming your traveling party can use stairways

Either way, the BWV is a fantastic location for SWW. :)

Have fun!

We've done all the views. This past April we booked the SV for the first time to save points. Tell you what, it was quiet and I actually enjoyed sitting out on the balcony watching people come and go. That being said, if you have never done the BW View, you should do it at least once. Good Luck....

wife made the final call and we are going board walk figure since its a short stay we should try it now on to thinking about the next place we will stay doing a cash reservation so depending on the discounts targets are Yacht club then Poly. saving a massive amount of points for 2017 taking the whole family shooting for a grandvilla if i can swing it.

I stayed at BWV with a boardwalk view. I would say it is almost certainly not worth extra points. I stayed in room 1001 or 1101 or something like that, which was the very last room on the hallway on the first floor next to Jellyrolls. The most interesting thing we could see was gulls on the railing. Couldn't see any fireworks or illuminations or anything like that. There, of course, wasn't a balcony, but a small "patio" that had two chairs and a table on it. We stayed for 4 nights in December. It was slightly nicer than the parking lot view at AKV.

We love the boardwalk view. The view itself is gorgeous and when our four year old goes to bed we can sit out on the balcony and still feel like we're part of the action.

I always try and get BW view first and then I try for standard view next. I don't think there is a better view anywhere else on property. Hope you won't like it though so it will be open for me when I want to book. I get very disappointed when I have to settle for something else unless village green view happens. I like the magic of a good view . I settled for parking lot views for years when I couldn't afford anything else so now I want to enjoy the whole experience . I spend enough time in the room that it matters to me .

While I agree it's a subjective thing we LOVE getting boardwalk view villas there :) We've been lucky enough to get one twice and can't wait to come back for another stay. :)

we own at BWV and use them all. For 8 points I would get BWview and see if you like it for longer stays in the future.

I would request 3 rd floor and up

I would be unhappy if I got the solid type. Since I am short I can't see over the top of the railings when sitting. That would take away a lot of viewing time for me.

Are those rooms noisy compared to the garden view rooms? I know when we had a room on the Green we kept our room closed because of the noise. If you are going in the hot weather it won't really matter but in the fall evenings are really nice.

We have stayed at BWV several times and only sprung for a Boardwalk view the last stay. We loved it! We have never spent so much time just sitting out on our balcony people watching. But for us, that was a low key trip where we spent a lot of time in the room. If we were planning a more intensive park related trip, I wouldn't pay extra for a view.

The 1 bedroom boardwalk view rooms are the worst on property during the first 3 weeks in December so don't book there at 11 months. Drunks on the boardwalk, people coming and going, boats on the lake, and they power wash the boardwalk each morning.

Any other time the boardwalk rooms are fine so book then. :-)

It had to be 1001. That's my biggest fear, getting one of those 3 rooms right on the boardwalk, I would not like it. I always request top floor and most of the time get 3 or 4. Only got 2 once (over Big River, it was noisy).

I love the boardwalk view. When I first bought in 1999 it was only a request. My guide told me since I was booking at 11 months I had a good shot at it. Of course, the first trip I got quiet pool view. After that, I booked standard view because I didn't want to pay the extra points and not get the boardwalk view. When it became a booking category, I have booked it every time. Love it!

I could not agree more. Booked BWV many times. Our last vaca in OCT we were nestled into the resort in the crook over the Brewery. Yikes. What a waste of points!!!!!! Could not see a thing other than down below us and out. We have had several fantastic views in the past. It is a risk. I also prefer the Standard Views. Never disappointed...save points for another trip, another time. Life is good when planning your next vacation.

Did it once, now I book standard. I do the same at AKV, nice but I'd rather save the points.

IMO Yes. Being able to sit on on Balcony with Coffee in the AM or Beverage in the evening is nice. My wife will not stay standard view and see parking lot.

First Floor for me is never a good option, no matter the resort.

I would request 3 rd floor and up

Shhh, if you tell him that how, thats one more person to fight for the upper floors

We have only done studios on BWV. Why only those 3 weeks for a 1 BR are bad? Do people not drink, boats not run, and they don't powerwash the rest of the year???

I will agree that the Boardwalk view is noisier. The boat horns late and early. For us one stay there were Laundry Carts or some type of cart that they would wheel down the boardwalk early in the morning that made a lot of noise...still was worth though. If I'm on vacation I'm not sleeping in anyway, for the most part. If I'm going to sleep in all vacation I could stay home instead. :sunny:

We routinely book BW view, if it's available, but hope not to get a room with a solid balcony rail. (I'll request upper floor from now on!) We like to sit out with coffee in the morning or wine in the evening and watch everything that's going on.

That said, the most memorable view we've had looked out over the main pool, toward the Swolphin, and I sat at the window for over an hour one morning watching the bald eagles up on the Swan.

He's joking, that's when he plans to be there.
