Board Walk Standard View

Hi

I am considering Boardwalk for our next trip on October 27th-Nov 2nd. I am interested in a stanadard view because it requires less points. What do the standard views look out at? are they courtyards or parking lot? Is there any particular area I should request? Also, what are the chances of getting this resort at the 7 month window? Should I book day by day? Do I book 7 months from the beginning of my stay or the end?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm really new at this.

Hi there!

Boardwalk is our home, and we generally stay in a standard view room. Sometimes we have overlooked the quiet pool, and sometimes we have overlooked the parking lot. To be honest, it didn't really matter to us. We were in our room to relax or sleep. There are lovely balconies either way, and even the parking lot view has very pretty grass, bushes, and other scenery. Oh, you can also see the fireworks from Epcot with a parking lot view!

I think the time you are planning to go is popular (I know my aunt always goes that time of year) so you may want to make your reservations day by day at the seven month point. Its really quite easy to do; when you make your initial reservation, let the CM know the days you will be staying and they will take care of the notes on the computer. From then on, every day you give them your ressie number, and add the day. They will hold the confirmation paper until the entire trip is booked, and then mail it out.

If you got quiet pool for standard view, you were upgraded, that should be preferred.

The standard views face the front driveway and pond at the end.

that's F&WF time . better book as soon as you can (7 month)
standard view is front facing drive as you come in and down by the tennis courts some say.

you might have to waitlist.

I do wish you luck on standard view during F&W. I own there and did day by day at my 11 month window to book standard view studio and was told they were going quickly then. Getting BWV and BCV during F&W is not easy to do, but trying to get standard view is near impossible. Expect to be waitlisted and you should have a backup resort reserved.

Yup, that's my experience as well -- standard view rooms are the first to go.

Thanks for your replies. I figured it will be hard to get the standard view, I'll keep my fingers crossed anyway and start calling at the 7 month mark.

I was actually looking for a studio. Oh well, thanks for letting me know. I'll probably book WLV (where we own) and go on a wait list for BWV standard view, but won't hold my breath.
