Board walk- Rooms

I have a friend that is going to take his son to Boardwalk, they are planning on just mostly hanging out at the ESPN. Which room or area would you suggest?

One near the elevator. When you're leaving it doesn't matter much how far you have to walk to leave the place, but when you get back, a long walk to your room isn't magical.

Just one word of caution: We asked that one of our group's room be close to an elevator. Just so happens we took the bedroom closest to the elevator. Unfortunately, I heard a very faint sound of motor or pump cycling on or off as I tried to get to sleep. I asked a maintenance person about it, but it was nearly impossible to hear during the day. Again, it was very faint, and probably would not bother 1 in 1000, but... It's probably highly unlikely that the same would happen to you, but I just though I would throw that in (and complicate your decision ).

Ironically, by asking (and getting) a room close to an elevator, our view was less than stellar. I wanted to avoid the Boardwalk view as I read it could get noisy, but if I go again, I will be asking for it. Then again, I would not want to be on the second floor. Arghhh... To many tradeoffs. Maybe I'll just leave it up to chance. Enjoy

Nothing is really too far of a walk, in my opinion. If you are at ESPN, you are at the far end of the BWI, so probably something near the lobby would have you at the closest exit point to get out to the Boardwalk and walk down there.
