As DH, DS, and I are sitting around playing Candy Land, I got to thinking. Do the Disney ships have a library that contains board games? Or somewhere you can borrow board games? DH and I have spent some time during sea days on Princess ships playing games from their libraries like Checkers and Yahtzee.

We just got off wonder from Panama Canal cruise, I did see some games in the promenade lounge

The Wonder had lots of games as well as beautiful chess/checkers boards in the pub. We spent several afternoons playing while we were on our Alaska cruise.

That's exciting to hear! We will be sailing on the Wonder next fall. Did any of you happen to notice if there were games a 5 year old would enjoy, or were they more traditional games?

DD loved playing Star Wars Battleship. She was 5 at the time. She also really enjoys chess so she thought playing at the fancy tables was cool.

I remember being on a Princess cruise a while back (late 2006) and they had several Mahjong sets.

I usually bring a few games on board (for myself and for the kids) for a cruise. Ghost Blitz might be a good one for her. My youngest started playing Sushi Go when she was 5, so that might work as well. I had those as well as Machi Koro, Codenames and Exploding Kittens for the adults.

Yes there are board games on the Fantasy I believe they are in the O'Gills bar. The variety wasn't great but they have duplicates of the common ones in case pieces are missing.

What we have done is gone to the dollar store, 5 Below, and bought travel versions of UNO, Clue, Battle Ship and others and have brought them along. We also feel if we lose them oh well its not like they are the really nice versions of the games we have at home.

I can tell you there is nothing like playing board games in Cabanas late at night or poolside or even on the veranda. With our kids at home we have no time to do this due to all of our crazy schedules.
