Would like to get DD 13 a board game that we can play together. We already have quite a few Disney games, so a non-Disney one would probably be better. Thanks!

My kids like Clue, Sorry, PayDay, Blokus, Life, Monopoly. Clue is my favorite to play with them.

We love Dominion, a card/board game. You will probably only find it online, but we really enjoy its almost endless possibilities... Especially if you buy the expansion games over time. Carcassone is a lot of fun, too. No two games come out the same. And It's more intense to learn, but Settlers of Catan is very addicting over time. BTW, these three suggestions go from less complex to more complex in that order, IMO.

I would agree with settlers of catan. The rule book can be intimidating, but if you know someone who can teach you it's actually pretty easy and a lot of fun. Do you guys own cranium? That can be a lot of fun. If they still make 1313 dead end drive, that was fun and would be perfect for a 13 year old. Hoopla is a great game where you play as a team as is Break The Safe.

In addition to these check out Ticket to Ride. All of these are fantastic games that have lots of replay value. I'd lean towards Dominion or Carcassone if you want a game for 2 or more players. The others are more fun with 3 or more players.

I also like to recommend one of the variations of Fluxx or Chrononauts. These are also best with 3 or more players.

We love at lot of the classics like sorry and monopoly, pay day and life. We like card games too. These are great for stocking stuffers. We like blink, and uno and rook. We love to play apples to apples but you really need more than three people to have a good game.

another classic is Parcheesi.
not a board game, but it is a tradition for hubby and I to play Yahtzee poolside every trip.

My DS13 and DS11 just got Qwirkle and love it! I've played with them a bunch of times and it is a lot of fun. Kind of a cross between dominoes and Scrabble. Bananagrams is another fun one.

There are a few games that my kids love to play, that the adults also play, but they are really 4+ player games, so if it's just you and your DD they won't work.
Encore! - a song lyrics/singing game
Smart ***- a general knowledge game
Loaded Questions- a game of questions where the player asks a question and has to figure out which answer came from which opponent- they like this game the best, because it can be played seriously or silly. Some of our families best inside jokes come from games of Loaded Questions.
