Bo Bunny binder albums

Hello ladies . . . .
I'm thinking of making one of these for my MIL for her b-day in July -- I haven't seen them in stores to look at them upclose. Is there a finished edge on the left side of the board where the ring in the binder goes through, or will I have to cut through my layout to expose the holes in the board? Clear as mud for a description, hopefully someone understands what I'm talking about.
