BMG seating - to poncho or not?

Is there any reason to NOT sit in the poncho area? For the night we're looking at, tickets are still available in the very front row. We're three adults and two teens. I think I read a review here that said it could get uncomfortably hot sitting in a poncho but with the teens I'm inclined to go for the "full experience" unless others advise not.
And splatter? Would those of us with glasses have to worry?

I've done poncho seating several times. LOVE IT. You're close enough that the Blue Men will make eye contact with you and interact with you from on stage. So fun!

A word of warning: the banana goo stains. My long-sleeved shirt got ruined because I had my arms out of the poncho and I let the banana goo sit too long before washing it.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm not too sure I want to be that close to banana goo but this is a birthday present for a 13 year-old and I might just have to suck it up to prove that I'm the cool aunt. :)

In November we were front row center, and I was towards the right side of that row (facing the stage). I got hit with the banana pudding stuff and it stuck to my sneakers, but I later was able to scratch it off, no damage.

Definitely take front row if available - you are so close to the action and you really don't have to wear the poncho until the guys sit down close to the front of the stage. And a possible benefit: my grandson was handed (by a BMG member) one of the "paintings" they created during the show:

Here he was in the lobby after the show, getting one of the BMG to "autograph" it (thumbprint in lower right corner).

You don't get this chance in the second row!
