Does anyone know if the Blue Zoo regularly serves the cocktails they had showcased at the Food & Wine Classic? Specifically I'm looking for the Burnt Orange Cocktail as I would like to stop in there for one before our dinner at Shulas next month. :goodvibes

The Burnt Orange was on the drinks menu when we visited the restaurant two weeks ago. However, my understanding is that the incredibly creative and talented bar staff at Bluezoo are constantly working on new drinks and improving the menu, so the drinks could change pretty frequently. The bartenders are very knowledgeable, though. I can't imagine that they wouldn't make a drink that was not on the menu unless they could no longer procure its ingredients. So, short answer: yes. Long answer: still yes, probably.

Oh good! It sounds promising. They have a bar area where you can get a drink and not eat, don't they?

Thanks! We have an ADR at Shulas that night, just want to go for a drink first. ;)

Behold, the Burnt Orange:

It was considerably better than I'd expected. I tend to be pretty conservative (the only time you'll see me use that adjective to describe myself) when it comes to drinks, seeing most newer ones as overly sweet and with booze out of proportion. This was neither, but was still pretty high octane. I would've had more than one, had I not been having wine.

The blue haze at the top of the glass is because the sugared orange wedge garnish is on fire when it comes to the table...

We went there in May and had a blueberry martini....not listed on their on-line menu. Does anyone know the ingredients? It was so yummy, I want to make it for an upcoming dinner party.

That blueberry martini is their signature drink. It's called the zooberry, and a bit of googling uncovered this recipe.

2 oz blueberry infused Ketel One Vodka
1 oz Fresh lemon juice
1 oz Simple Syrup

Blueberry infused vodka is made from 5 lbs of frozen blueberries and four 750ML of Ketel One Vodka that infuse together for 5 days.
