I noticed, recently that 2 Walmart stores now have their signs in green.... is there a difference between the stores?

I think it may have something to do with their attempt to "go green."

If that's true, it makes me laugh. Nothing says "going green" like sending your old sign to rot in the landfill to make people think you are enviromentally aware. :rotfl:

I'm not positive, but I think - emphasis on think - it has something to do with the type of store. Whether it is a regular Wal Mart, a Wal Mart Supercenter, or a Wal Mart Neighborhood Market store.

This would make sense because when I did a search it mentioned green being for the locations that are more "grocery" than "Wal-Mart"

Well, I guess we'll see... the Walmart near me is changing from a regular Walmart to a super Walmart... nearly done, it seems.

They have Wal-Mart branded grocery stores, can't remember the exact name, marketplace or something

In the DFW area we have ones with blue letters, ones with green letters, and even some with red letters. Sometimes it seems like they are making an attempt to match the brick and/or architecture. The one I know of with red letters doesn't look very attractive to me, though. The paint on the building is kind of pinkish, and the red looks ugly with it.

I bet they start making more green ones now since it is "in" to be "green". That's okay with me, though. The green letters on a tan to brownish brick make the most attractive stores aesthetically.

The green signs oar efor the Gracery store. They call it the Neighborhood Market. We have a lot of them in Florida. Prices are good but the meat quality isn't. We use them for everything but meat.

Our Superwalmart has always had a green sign. The next closest SuperWalmart has a blue sign. I believe that local regulations may have something to do with the difference.

I have noticed that the green signs are in more upscale areas and newer stores, the blue ones are in the older Superwalmarts-so that may have something to do with it too.
