OK.. for Christmas I have asked for a way to hook my laptop up to the TV.

What I mainly want to do is watch shows when I miss them. :)
I was hoping for a cable so I can watch from websites.

My mom is looking into getting us a blue-ray player with wi-fi.

I know with these we can stream from hulu, youtube, and some other sites, but can we go to nbc.com or fox.com?

Would connecting the laptop be the only way to watch from any site that I want?

Right now we stream netflix through the wii, but I'd love to get rid of the cable and be able to stream network tv too.

Thanks!

My Blu-ray player (and my television, for that matter) has access to Hulu, YouTube, Vudu, Blockbuster, Amazon and Netflix - not nbc.com nor fox.com. I'd check with the specific brand you want to buy, and see, but don't assume that such connections are possible.
